Pantyliners traps moisture and hinders ventilation. In the long run, it could cause problems such as fungal or bacterial infection. 100% cotton undies are encouraged too. CC's right, if absolutely necessary, it's better to opt for unscented ones. It doesn't sound sexy, but trust me, "trush" is even more un-sexy.
