Although they specify this as for ‘traders and professionals’ only. But, I suggest anyone of you who is interested should just go. :D Plenty of freebies and cheap stuff I heard. But, it’s a pain that it’s on weekdays. :(

So, will you go?

As those that I have written in Part I and II, mascaras and foundation have less than a year of good life span. Today, let’s look at something with a little longer life.

1 year: Pressed powder, loose powder, shimmer powder, eye shadow, blush, lip gloss, lipstick, toner.

As for pressed powder and loose powder, I have a tendency of keeping it them very long, simply because, it is harder to finish them. It seems like we do not use a lot of them during our application, and before we finish them, we are keep restocking new ones.

The same also goes to eye shadow and shimmer powder. How likely is it for us to finish a whole color palette of eye shadow? I never did. And, as I dug out some of my old eyeshadow that I do not use anymore, but still have it somewhere around, I noticed some ‘extra’ on the powder. I do not know whether it’s my illusion or something, but evidently they don’t look fresh to me anymore. I can’t remember how old are they, so I think it’s time to say baibai to them. Well, you better dig out your old stuff as well. :D There has not been solid proof of using expired eye shadow or pressed power, but I guess, simply because it’s not fresh anymore? And you bear the risk of break outs on your skin.

Ah, talking about lip color, I have like 100 colors but still continue buying it. This is a really bad habit for the cosmetics and pocket. Just like my foundation, mascaras and eye shadow, I never did finish using one either. But, we can never buy enough of them. Why why why. Evidently it’s the manufactuers’ and the ads fault, we are coaxed into stuff like that.

As for toner, usually I keep the extra in fridge and I never use them for more than a year, because I only have one and stick to one toner. :D

Part IV will be the cosmetics with longer life span, 18 months.

As a continuous part of health warning and high risk of expired mascara, today, I am going to continue about foundations.

Products with 6-8 months life span once opened are as such: Liquid foundation, cream foundation, concealer, cleanser, moisturiser.

But very often, my liquid foundation last me for more than a year, and I use more than one brand of liquid foundation. You know, sometimes the curiousity and greed are just too overwhelming, can’t help but trying out new stuff on the shelves!

Apparently, I have not experienced the obvious impact of using a expiring old foundation yet. I do not what’s the worst impact that you can get on your face, but I believe, it would be some sort of break outs or skin allergy. I do get break out once in a while, but I don’t blame it on foundation. Luckily I am only using 2 foundation now, which is the Aery Jo Liquid Foundation and The BodyShop Moisture Foundation SPF 15. So, I guess, I will just stick to these 2 until the end upon reading this.

Imagine how your foundation would possibly feel when you abandon the old one for the new one. It must be weeping in the dark drawer.

As for the cleanser and moisturizer, I will suggest you withdrawing the amount you roughly need for a month, and keep the rest in the fridge if you happen to buy a big bottle like my 500ml Gerraud Cleansing Milk, just pour out how much you need in a clean dispenser and keep the rest. Hence the lifespan will be extended. And you keep it fresh just like milk. The same goes to toner, or moisturizer of facial masks.

What’s coming up next would be : Products with a year old life span.

As I was previously wrote in the health warning, mascaras have only a life span of 3-6 months. Digging out all my mascaras, I have like 5 sticks of at least 4 months old. @@

But, heck, masacaras don’t last long anyway. They dry up pretty fast. Do not ever share your mascara with your friends anyone. Keep in personal. The action of pumping mascara in and out of the dispenser can harbour bacteria. Imagine like those testers that you see in Watsons or Guardian, can you imagine how much bacteria has infected on the wand after it’s shared by so many? Think about someone who uses the wand before you, has conjunctivitis, you might be the next unlucky one to be infected!

So, never ever try the testers, keep your mascara personal. For the sake of your eyes. I am sure you do not want infected and teary eyes, do you?

Next part coming up will be the life span of liquid foundation.

‘Keep your cosmetics fresh just like the food you eat’.

Many of us like to keep buying and buying cosmetics, I know cosmetics have a certain lifespan, but to my horror, their lifespan is actually much shorter than I expected. Imagine the infected mascara wand we use, will infect our eyes too!

Use-by dates

Make-up, once opened, expires at

3-6 months: Mascara

6-8 months: Liquid foundation, cream foundation, concealer, cleanser, moisturiser

1 year: Pressed powder, loose powder, shimmer powder, eye shadow, blush, lip gloss, lipstick, toner

18 months: Eye and lip pencils

News from here. Solution? Finish something first only restock. :D

EminSlim Slimming Patch

There has been too many slimming products in the market such as slimming gel, pills, slimming devices or patches. Among them, pills are the most effective and convienient way. But, we all know that popping slimming pill is bad for health.

Recenlty, I saw this EminSlim slimming patch at the Expo and I find the users manual quite funny. Sadly, I do not have much information about this product as it is still very new in the market and neither have I tried it. But it comes in 3 types of patch, which is:

1. Slimming and draining action ( regular ) : 29 patches
2. Slimming booster ( strong ) - accelerates slimming : 15 patches
3. Stubborn areas ( spa hydrogel )- stomach, hips, knees, arms : 9 patches

It’s quite complicated because every time of patch you have to follow the instructions of usage, like, sticking it for how long, what’s the min duration that you can use it again, and even their adhensive strength is different.

EminSlim Slimming Patch

Just when I was reading through the manual, I saw something damn interesting. It says : ” When you remove the patch, a small section of the horny layer of the epidermis is also removed.” I really wonder what does the “horny” layer means. When it is removed, so you will not be horny layer anymore? If that’s the case, it is a really big fallback of this product then.

I do not have the experience with this, sadly, because it is very expensive. It’s retailing at RM188 each box. Or you can check out their website @ www.otraderm.com.
