The easiest way to achieve this look is as follows.

Room temp water works best. I suggest prepping your nails ahead of time. Use a base color or one that’s in your design. Then tape off around your nail to keep from getting messy.

When you are dropping in your colors work quickly. If they’re not spreading well try giving the glass or bowl a little jiggle. Then. when dipping your nail in place your finger at a 90 degree angle to the design and go down. Do not dip your finger straight in. keep your finger in and get the rest of the polish skin off the top. remove your finger and the tape. Voila!

Also when dipping your finger into the water you don’t remove it fast. You use a toothpick and take the remaining nail polish thats flating on the water around your nail before completely removing your finger from the water.

You have to use ROOM TEMPERATUE water or it completely fails. Also if you don’t want polish all around your skin you can use some scotch tape before entering your fingers into the water.

If i knew how to leave a photo, i would, lol… practice makes perfect. My first try wasn’t great either, but I love doing it now. But you definitely need a thinner polish, preferably with a lot of pigment.

i once saw this before in a shopping lot, a shop was demonstrating how to do this marble nail art and I was amazed by it… the results were really great… i wanted to do that on my own too but failed too.. hahha..

you can go to “you tube” type “marble nail art” and see some videos. The key is to use shades that are very different. very light and very dark to see the design. also use a tape around the nail so that you won’t have to clean up so much. I will try out and put in my blog and tell u the result of my experiment

You need to leave your nail in the water while removing the excess polish on the surface of the water with a toothpick or skewer or something. When you pulled your finger out after dipping, it pulled all that other polish from the surface of the water onto your nail.
