Oh dear?…I worked cosmetics for Nordstrom 16 years and thought nothing of putting anything on my skin…then I ended up with Hodgkin’s lymphoma 6months of horrible chemo, no hair, and who knows why, BUT I have a suspicion it has something to do with all the chemicals I put on my body and was around….my son, also was born with autism, which mirrors Mercury poising ??? I was pregnant with him while I was working???? It’s not just in our skin care products, it’s in our hair products, make-up (you can’t imagine the crap they put in there), fragrances, we inhale loose powders etc., it’s in our food, I mean we are goners FOR SURE!!!???. Any way… Have you seen this website..? It’s not very complete, but you are able to look up some beauty company’s, products, etc., and they will give you ingredients and a rating of danger- kind of interesting. I’m glad I found your site, I was looking for reviews on lamsamyick brushes-can’t find them here-bummer. Kind of nervous to buy through Amazon-never know what you’re going to get?. Ciao

It would entirely depend on where it came from 🙂 If it arrived unsolicited through the mail or mail order through an unknown Internet company, no way. From a kiosk at the mall, no way. If I got it from a reputable beauty source, maybe. It might be hard to resist miraculous results! I have been researching beauty chemistry and have been surprised at what I’ve learned. It is possible to create fabulous products in a variety of price points.

I’m usually very skeptical of miracle products. Perhaps before I’d have the guts to try but these days, I’d prefer to stick with reputable brands.

Yeah I don’t dare to try “unknown” brands. If I can’t find it on Google, then I would deem it too unknown for me. I also have problems trying brands that are lesser known recommended by facialists too – I had a friend who swore by these Italian products her facialist sold to her but I couldn’t understand the Italian description and so never took the extra step beyond listening to my friend’s raves. Her skin was good but I just like to know what I am buying.

I would only if the products contained safe ingredients proven to work. If a brand doesn’t list its ingredients anywhere, then I’d stay very far away from it. Better to be safe than sorry.

No ingredients list? Hmm..NO, bye bye I guess….I’m scared it may come from somewhere with ingredients that could harm our skin! Maybe if its a blush or just plain makeup, I COULD give it a try but not skincare!

Just found your blog and I love the question you raised in this post. Personally, I would love to try out a new brand that I’ve never heard of, but definitely a no if it doesn’t have an ingredient list or where was the product made. Those are red flags for me.

I think if it’s too good to be true, most likely it’s too true to be good 🙂 My mother might sometimes fall into this sort of “trap” as she’s so innocent and trustworthy. Granted, seeing is believing until we find out the truth much later.
