Review & Thoughts: Epiderme Hydration Replenish Starter Kit

by xin on November 23, 2011

A while ago, I was provided with a Epiderme Hydration Replenish Starter Kit, a brand from the USA.

Epiderm Trial Kit for Moist

The trial kit consists of:

– Hydration cleansing milk, Anti-Aging CPR Ocean Serum, Multi Action Intensice Hyaluronic Moisturizer & Anti Aging CPR Ocean Mask.

The size of kit is actually quite substantial for a 2-3 weeks use. (On once a day basis)

Epiderme Trial Kit box

Hydration Cleansing Milk (30ml)

This cleansing milk is very basic, it cleanses well for morning use. However, the texture is not very soft and creamy. I think it is just an alright product.

The information printed behind the box. One thing that I find quite interesting with the products is – the appearance of the products’ content is rather different than what i am used to.  You will understand me when you see the following pictures 🙂

Epiderme Anti Aging CPR Ocean Serum

Anti-Aging CPR Ocean Serum (10ml)

This is my star favorite from the kit. It is quite a runny serum, but it locks moisture like a charm! All I need is a drop in the morning. You might feel a little stickiness initially but it eventually sinks in quite well. It does not have much scent to it, which is a plus point to me. It is formulated with 11 marine actives, it is no wonder that it works powerfully!

Epiderme Intensive Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizer

Multi Action Intensice Hyaluronic Moisturizer (15ml)

The moisturizer appears to be thick, and it is not the normal white moisturizer that we are used to!

It looks thick, but actually it feels quite light and moisturizing at the same time on face. It is to help protect, restructure and moist skin 24/7.

It has light marine scent, which is quite pleasant to the nose.

Anti-Aging CPR Ocean Mask

Anti Aging CPR Ocean Mask (15ml)

Again, the mask texture is quite different from the usual mask. It’s soft and thick, almost clay-like once you slap it on.

However, the smell of this mask is very  pungent, and if you have it on your face, the scent just gets to you, which can be annoying if you are bothered by the scent. Once you apply it on your face, there is a soothing cooling sensation even after you wash it off, until you apply skin care.

Otherwise, it performs what it does as a hydrating mask. It is suggested to be used twice a week to improve skin tone and elasticity. With 15ml use, I can’t vouch that it has improved my skin tone, but it delivers the moisturizing result.

Overall Thoughts

For about 2 weeks use, I have not noticed any drastic changes, other than overall hydrated skin. But again, I have been incorporating bits and pieces into my regime, I can’t say for sure which has REALLY worked for me. Bottom line is, it did not break me out, or cause any skin sensitivity. The product I love most is the CPR Ocean Serum, the rest are quite slightly better than the average products.

Price: At time of writing, this trial kit is not currently available on their website, which it was used to.  Separate products in full size are:

1. CPR Ocean Serum USD$65.00 ~ RM195

2. Intensive Hyaluronic Moisturizer USD$68 ~ RM204

*Shipping is free for selected products.

The moisturizer sounds like a good idea; not too sure about the serum as I had something quite similar but ended up sticky on me. Like that this brand gives free samples though – it’s a great effort to get people to try out their stuff.

Products look and sounds interesting. I adore products that are hydrating! However, the price is steep:I

ditto what Dom said – pricewise it’s a bit on the steep side, but if it works then why not? 🙂
