Friday Sharing: 10 Skincare & Makeup Tips from Laneige Makeup Educator – Park Min Hyuk

by xin on November 18, 2011

Did I hear the Christmas bell ringing already?

And yes, all the brands are rolling out their holiday gift sets already.

laneige

I am sure we are all familiar with this Laneige face – Song Hye Gyo. She is so gorgeous on the ad for the sleeping pack, but she is even more gorgeous in this dazzling look!

Laneige Makeup Artist - Park

A week ago, we had the pleasure to join a workshop conducted by Mr Park Min Hyuk, the Makeup Educator for AmorePacific.

No doubt, he is a Korean. Although he speaks only Korean (with a translator for us), but he is very charming and humorous in his way, it was still entertaining even though we don’t understand Korean.

It is like watching Korean drama, but with delayed subtitles!

The makeup demo was done with their latest collection – Styling Romantic.

During the demo, he shared a tone of skincare/makeup tips, but I have managed to capture 10 for our knowledge 😀

Laneige Holiday Collection

A neutral color trio eyeshadow, 2 shades of blushes and lipstick/gloss.

It is a versatile palette because you can use it for day, and night. I will go more into the colors in the next post.

Being made up

Since it was a hands-on workshop, we got to remove our eye makeup then reapply them following the steps by Park.

However, I got the perks of sitting the nearest to him, which was having the luxury to be made up by Park himself.

Dazzling Holiday with Laneige

Products that I have to be reviewed next.

Tips shared by Mr Park Min Hyuk:

1. To make sure remove makeup thoroughly, use a cotton pad to soak the toner and wipe outwards to remove what could be hidden in skin after your cleansing routine.

2. To save time in eye makeup removal, soak up 2 cotton pads with eye makeup remover and place each on eye and leave it for a while.

3. Always apply skincare first prior to makeup to make the makeup last. And use primer if you have oily skin, or oily T-zone for sebum control. It is better to apply on hand first then spread on the face for better coverage.

4. Their makeup bases:
– Green is for blemished skin, so you can concentrate on the patches.
– Purple is for dark skin, or rather in area that skin is darker, eg applying it at the centre of the face to brighten up skintone.

5. BB cream is actually for lighter use, for eg, an outing with friends, or party.

6. If you are using powder, make sure to keep it less to avoid skin looking dry.

7. For eye-lining, tightline it under eyelashes for a natural look, it is easier to achieve a perfect line if you look downwards with mirror place underneath your eyes.

8. NEW: The latest eyebrow trend in Korea is thick natural brows, you look younger and livelier.

9. NEW:  For day look, apply mascara at the roots of lashes only. This can help the lashes to be held up and natural looking! Unfortunately, this tip is solely applicable to the long lashes, I have tried it, but as soon as the mascara wand touches my lashes, it covers the entire lash length!

10. Find the S line on your face and contour, it can help to make face looks slimmer!

That’s my sharing for today 😀 Will be sharing thoughts on the makeup next!
