Since our last episode was about hair care, now, comes one of the most important areas – skin care.

As we all know, skin care takes a long time to maintain or to improve current skin condition.

It is recommended that you start taking care of your skin intensively at least from 3-6 months time. Set a little budget for saloon service at least once a month, and the rest will be home-care.

Morning/ Night Skin Care:

For the brides to be, I would recommend to use hydration or brightening skincare range to get the glowing skin on the big day.

Hydrating skin care:

For hydrating skin care, I would recommend Laneige Hydra Bank Set, my set is running low soon, and I am thinking to continue another set. :) It doesn’t break the bank and it delivers result!

Brightening skin care:

If you have a little to splurge, you can try for Clarins White Plus HP Sea Lily Enriched range.

After taking care of your skin day and night, you need some extra to boost the results too.  Frequent use of masks can seriously help to improve your skin condition a lot. Now, let’s see the mask types you can easily get in the market.

Sleeping masks:

It is better to use at least once or twice of sleeping mask a week to retain the moisture in your skin. Apply all your skincare at night as per usual, then slap on a layer of sleeping mask and you are done. The next morning you will have soft and supple skin.

Laneige has been in Malaysia for some time, and to be honest, I have never paid attention to this brand until I was in Korea.

There was a Laneige flagship store in Myeongdong and it was 2-storey high!

And one thing about the Korea trend (I assume) is, they like to buy things in bulk! For example, I have seen many promotions for buy 3 Laneige water sleeping pack then free 1. I was quite amused: do they use THAT much?

But, after seeing so many good skins in Korea…I decided to get myself a set of Laneige Hydra Bank set for dry skin too. It was about RM190. Can anyone tell me the price here?

It has: Power Skin Refiner, Balancing Emulsion, Water Bank Cream, travel set of the items and one cleanser.

laneige power essential skin_ex

Power Essential Skin_EX is the first step after cleansing. It feels like a toner,  but slightly more moisturizing. It is supposed to work before toner. I find this works better for me than the clear lotion as it helps my skin stay hydrated longer.

laneige balancing emulsion 1_ex

Balancing Emulsion 1_EX is the second step in the routine, it acts as a toner or sometimes  a moisturizer. It works best when you pat the emulsion on a cotton pad onto your face till everything is absorbed into your skin.

After this stage, my face feels really hydrated and moisturized.

No doubt, Korea is known as one of the skincare heavens on earth. And with so many Korean brand skin care outlets booming in Malaysia, now I am glad that without going there, I can still get *some* stuff.

One thing I think of Korean skincare store is: The competition is really intense! Practically ALL stores are giving out free stuff for you to step into their store!!! The major brands in Myeongdong are: The Face Shop, Skinfood, Tony Moly, It’s Skin, Innis Free, Etude House, Baviphat, Laneige etc.

Now, let’s see some of the products from the store.

I have not heard/seen this brand till when I saw the shop. And did you see some ladies taking turn to snap photo with the ambassador? He is Kwon Sang Woo! (thanks to amber_ who pointed it out to me)

tony moly

Ahh Tony Moly. I kinda like the name of the shop, it just rhymes well!

Noticed anything strange in the picture?

aggressive sales

SEE????

The SA was so desperate to get customers!!!!Yes, he was holding and giving out a sheet mask to get customers in.

And it’s really hard for tourists not to resist…

The cheapest sheet masks start from: KW1000 (~RM3.30).

More often than not, I have always asked myself: Why just can’t I be very fair despite the fact that I avoid sun and also use sunscreen religiously?

Well I guess this is a pretty common question among the Asians. Eventually, I learnt the fact that there is NO SHORT CUT to whiten myself, I can only keep my skintone look even hence more radiant with the use of whitening products.

Recently, Clarins has launched a new range known as the White Plus HP Sea Lily Enriched.  With they key ingredient as Sea Lily extract, they have discovered another breakthrough in skin whitening.

A little bit of background:

Like any cell with dendrites, the melanocyte has the capacity to extend its <> and retract them. This phenomenon is called “dendricity” which is just like an extension of the “Melanin Tunnel” to transport and transfer melanin to epidermal cells. With increasing UV aggression, inflammation, stress damages…etc., in order to quickly deliver this large quantity of melanosomes to the skin, dendrites extend and ramify, finally more and more melanins are distributed to cells through the extension of “melanin tunnel”. Skin pigmentation quickly intensified resulting to skin darkening and dark spots.

Ever since the first day I knew about the existence of hand cream, I have been using them even more than body lotions!

As I am always in a hurry to leave home, hand cream has become a good friend of mine when I am on my way out to places. And I use them as body lotions too!

When I first heard about Steam Cream on Muse, I was intrigued by the design of the packaging.  I don’t think anyone can resist cute packaging especially when you know you can even do something with the casing after finishing the product.

steam cream Papillon

I was excited when I got my hands on Steam Cream Papillon too! Love the butterfly and colors of the jar. It makes my life feel lively somehow.

So, what is a Steam Cream? Using steam technology, Steam Cream is a gentle and loosely-bound emulsion. The ingredients include: oatmeal, orange flower water and lavendar oil. It is said to penetrate deeper into the skin which other products can’t. It is suitable for all skin type and sensitive skin too.

Unscrewing the jar.

While the screw of the jar is easily accessible, but becareful that the content might spill if you do not hold it up right. It will be a waste because due to the nature of the emulsion, it is quite runny. So make sure you handle it with care.

What I did was, I depot the content to a smaller jar with a spatula for hygiene purpose. And your product will not contaminated by your fingers especially if you want to apply it onto your face.
