Gatsby has been known for various hair styling proucts for men. Recently, I found this new products from them at Watsons, it’s called “Moving Rubber”.
I have no idea why they named it Moving Rubber, probably because you can open the cap? Well, I do not know. They have a very famous Japanese actor as their spokeperson for this thing, which is Takuya Kimura. If you never heard of him, this is how he looks like. A typical ‘flower boy’.
If you watch tv, you might have seen his appearance on the advertisement, well, he looks really stupid in the ad, he is like moving/dancing stupidly with the product. It was a disappointing advertisement for his good look.
Although this hair styling products are meant for guys, but the curious me has to check out this new thing. This product comes in several ‘flavours’. This blue casing with the name ‘Cool Wet’ is a gel-type styling product, but it does not hold if you do not use enough of it. This capsule is expensive, this small pot is priced at RM6.90 while a bigger one is at RM19.90. So, I believe if you want your hair to be held hard, you gotta use a lot of it.
Where as this purple color casing is like the clay for hair. It feels sticky on hair, but heck, this is meant for short hair only. All other clay stink but not this series, they actually carry nice light scent. For the first time, guys’ hair products smell good. Interesting right?

Have u tried the Pink color Moving Rubber? It’s called Spiky Edge. It has a very strong hold and mainly for short hair. Has nice smell too.

I sometimes use their Loose Shuffle, the orange color moving rubber.
It’s quite good for having the messy look for shoulder length hair. Has this nice smell, citrus I think.
And on youtube they have tutorials for each and every one of the moving rubbers.

It’s called moving rubber cos it can be adjusted in the day after using it as many times as you want. It’s like some fibre they created. And if you want strong hold get the pink.
It’s not a wax so of course it’s not gonna be hard. it’s designed to shape, be able to reshape throughout the day and allow the hair to retain shape while moving.
If you want it hard, get a wax or gel. if you insist on using this and want a hard hold….YOU MUST USE HAIRSPRAY TOO! I repeat this is not for hold…it’s for styling. USE HAIRSPRAY WITH THIS FOR HOLD.
OH and also, using too much can make your hair ultry shiny, clumpy, ugly, nasty looking and may cause damage. Use only a fingertip amount (maybe 2 if you have more hair).
You should NOT lump it onto your hair. if you do this…then yes it is expensive because it goes fast. If you follow the instructions and know what the product is about…it should last you a long time. I have pretty long hair and layers and style daily but a small jar lasts me at least 2 months.
