Over the weekend, I had a little tour in Malacca with my family, although we have been there countless times, but it’s really been a while since we last went to the state.
It was a hot Saturday and the street famous of food and souvenirs – Jonker’s street already buzzing with people as early as 11am.
Our brunch at the first stop – chicken with rice balls! The normal rice was nothing to shout about but I love the yam rice balls!
We took a walk along the street and the sun was really blazing hot.
We stopped by a famous ‘cendol’ shop for some duran shaved-ice.
I love the nostalgic settings in the shop!
We spent the rest of the afternoon in malls until dinner time.
And had ‘nyonya’ food for dinner. The shop opens at 6pm but the crowd started as early as 5.30pm. We had to stand around the shop and dash in once it opened, as if food was free.
Sadly, the food was really nothing special and I really wondered why people were crazy about it.
It may not be the best food, but it is the company that counts 😀
And on Sunday, we had another round of Father’s day celebration. It’s a food-overdosed weekend indeed.
Happy father’s day daddy!

Was it the cendol shop in 88 on Jonker? I love the gula melaka they use. Almost solid!

Happy fathers’ day to your dad and to all the special fathers in your life 🙂
this is random — i don’t eat braised eggs. I’m scared of the color, lol.

LOL that’s interesting to know! does it mean that you dont eat anything braised?

haha, i do. But I’m really scared of the eggs because the color reminds me of century egg which I can’t stand. But I take braised beef, pork and tofu. I don’t take braised innards, though.
