My Experiment: Virgin coconut and The Body Shop Total Energy essential oil

by xin on February 5, 2009

After reading quite many posts on Vivawoman, i am so inspired by her posts about the power of essential oil in healing. So, I got myself some equipment to experiment it myself. Darn i am always inspired!

oil

One virgin coconut, or any fragrance free base/carrier oil. I bought virgin coconut because it is cheapest of the lot. Pure essential oil should NEVER be applied undiluted directly onto our skin as it will damage our skin. So, we need some base oil to dilute it.

My essential oil: The Body Shop Total Energy essential oil. Retails at RM55.

Key ingredients:

Ginger, Rosemary and Peppermint – Known for stimulating, invigorating and cleansing properties

Lemon, Cadarwood and patchouli – Invigorate the senses and promotes a sense of harmony.

And a cute cock bowl. hehehe i bought it new!

How to mix it?

o2

Pour a little of base oil into the bowl. The written guide is 10ml base oil with 6 drops of essential oil. Since i do not have anything to measure, so I just go by my heart. I poured out a little and mix with 2 drops of essential oil. As you can see, the yellow substance is actually the essential oil.

The verdict?

It is damn cool! In fact, I find home-mix is better than the ready made one. I was told that a bottle of base oil of that size can mix with 50 drops of essential oil. I did not mix them in the bottle because i can use the carrier oil for other purposes or my another essential oil.

Any advice/recommendations of essential oil?

:D

I love it when my beautician uses Sandalwood and lavender oil on me, but I’ve never really explored much about essential oils myself. I really do admire your spirits to experiment and try out DIY stuff, kudos to your, gal! ^_^
