When I passed by the Crabtree & Evelyn store few weeks ago, I noticed some new pinky display in the store, of course I had to check out what is the pretty thing.
I ended up picking up a facial scrub – Rose Essence Gentle Skin Refining Exfoliant. To be honest, it was the packaging that I could not resist.
The back of the box is printed benefits of the scrub.
I kinda love the soft-tube packaging too, it is not the normal hard glossy plastic, it is the soft, rubbery and matte feeling.
Like most products, the opening is sealed to make sure no one tampers the product.
To use: Damp your face and apply the scrub in circular movement. Then rinse off. You can even leave this on your skin for 5 mins for more intensive result.
As you can see from the picture, the scrub is really really smooth and refined. No wonder it is called Gentle Skin Refining Exfoliant instead of scrub. Scrub certainly sounds a lot more harsh. As for the scent, there is almost no fragrance at all other than very strong scent of rose hip oil, I wouldn’t say it is very pleasant either, but I got used to it already.
As you are scrubbing away, the product does not foam. Instead, it becomes some tiny granules and the rest just melts away. One thing great about this product is, it does not dry out skin, which I believe is due to the oil properties in the product. Using this twice a week should not be a problem. The bummer is also, it doesn’t make you feel like you have brand-new skin after use. You don’t get the satisfaction of harsh-scrubbing like some body scrub.
After using this for about 3 weeks, I do find that my skin is slightly smoother and less whiteheads too. I am not sure if this is entirely the credit of the scrub, but what I am sure of is that, it does contribute a little.
A 100ml retails at RM98 at all Crabtree & Evelyn outlets. I am not sure if I will repurchase it as I think it will last me for months and by then I will probably be interested to try out another product with a similar value.
