Some time ago, the kind people at Inuovi has offered to send me the Inuovi Liquid Pencil (Eyeliner.Brow Definer) in black for review. But i have been delaying the review because I could not find the best way to use it, it kept smudging on me and color was not black enough for me.
BUT, all the myths were solved till I consulted Bob, the make up guru for the proper use.
And now, I have to say, I really like it a lot!!!!
The description on site:
Be doubly enticed by this revolutionary 2-in-1 brow and liner pencil. Use dry for a powdery application to achieve perfectly defined and natural looking brows or dampen the lead to glide onto the lash line like a true kohl pencil. Smudge-resistant and long lasting.
Swatch on hand.
What’s so special about it is: It can be used to touch up eyebrow as well as eyeliner!
Before doing anything. Usually I am very lazy to draw my brow, but sometimes when I accidentally over-shave, I will have to top it up.
Draw a thin line. Then blend it a bit with a spoolie. If you do not have a spoolie in hand, you can use Q-tip to smudge it as an emergency tool.
The result. It is not extremely black, so, my brow still looks normal from a far.
Spray water on the pencil a little to wet it, and you can use your own eyeliner brush to pick up the color for more intense, and longer lasting liner.
You can always add the color as you wish.
For EXTREMELY OILY eyelids, I was suggested to tap eye base around eye, apply foundation, then press powder, then apply another layer of eyebase again, then set with powder again for long-lasting power.
Ta dah! One thing great about not overly dark color is, it will not look so harsh on the eye.
I have also tried with eyeshadow, and apply the liner. Once it is dampened, the kohl pencil will glide on smoothly and absolutely easy to draw.
And guess what? This is the first time pencil liner does not smudge much on me after a whole 7 hours of outing and shopping!!!
Those who know me should know how irritating my oily lids are right?
Now, this liquid pencil has become one of my must-use items already!

Q: Somehow the color is not very pigmented and black just not seem to be black enough for me. I sharpened, and tried again, but it seemed the same. Is there a specific way to use it to get the best result? Why is it called ‘liquid pencil’? Do i have to use it wet or something? I paired it with Inuovi falsies and found that regardless how many layers I colored, the black just did not seem to match the band of the falsies.
A: Liquid Pencil is a 2-in-1 pencil in more ways than one. It can be used as a brow definer as well as an eyeliner. Liquid Pencil can also be used dry for soft colour and wet for a more intense shade. For eyebrows definition, use Liquid Pencil dry and you will find that the creamy texture glides on smoothly to create a well-defined brow shape. At the same time, you can also use Liquid Pencil dry for definition during day makeup. The barely there finish when used dry as an eyeliner will define eye shape without the harsh intense colour.
For your instance, if you would like to use Liquid Pencil and impart a more intense colour, you could wet the tip with a light spray of water and use an eyeliner brush to pick up the colour from the pencil tip and define the eyes. However, as this pencil is designed for dual usage, the colour will not be intense as those that are designed only for eyeliner usage. The lead is formulated to be used wet and dry. Hence, once the lead is dry, it will revert back to its original state and would be suitable once again as a brow definer.
My recommendation when using Liquid Pencil for eyeliner is when you want to achieve a smoky eye effects. When wet, Liquid Pencil will convert to a soft creamy texture that allows you to smudge the eyeliner for a well blended smoky effect.
Q: I used inuovi primer before applying, but the color can’t withstand my oily lids either. So at the end of the day, after about 6 hours, the liner was almost gone with only the falsies band on my lids.
A: A lot of times, eyeliner and eyeshadow does not last long due to inadequate prepping of the eyelid areas. If you are using Eyebase, my recommendation for application would be as follow.
a. Apply EYEBASE in tapping motion around the eye area including the upper eyelids. (this step helps to control the oil)
b. Apply foundation and set press with powder.
c. Apply EYEBASE in tapping motion on the upper eyelid area. (this step help to intensify eyeshadow colour and make eyeliner more long-lasting
d. Allow to set by pressing with powder
e. Apply eyeshadow and eyeliner
