Cheap and Good: Have a Clean Start with Daiso Brush/Sponge Detergent

by xin on January 4, 2011

Hello 2011! Have you given your cosmetic brushes/puffs/sponges a good year-end bath?

I know many have raved about this cheap and excellent brush detergent, but let me show you how magical it is for those who have never tried.

daiso brush cleaner

Over the years, I have tried many kinds of cleansers including J&J shampoo but nothing worked as fantastic as this Daiso Puff/Sponge Detergent.

Only RM5 for 80ml, you don’t need to use a lot too!

washing brushes

To wash my brushes, usually I will pour the detergent into an empty plastic cup, and dilute with water.

Then swirl your brushes in the soap water.

And you know what you will get?

cleaning brushes

Milk tea!

Just a little swirl and you are almost done!

Just wash it another round and you should get to see clean water already.

Now, time to air-dry your brushes.

drying brushes

Usually, I will dry with serviette or kitchen napkin because the texture is rougher and not much fiber will stick to the brushes. You can lay them flat, or put the brushes in a cup under the fan to air dry.

The brushes dry pretty fast with the detergent too.

before and after

Now, you see the difference?

My brushes returned to original brand new state again!

Oh, say hello to my rabbit!

Some of you might recognize the veil 😀

cleaned brushes

All my brushes had a year end bath and now all sparkling clean!

If you ever get the chance to try this detergent, I am sure you will love it too.

I have this as well. It works so well! Even better than all the body wash, shampoo whatever that I’ve been using before this

Ok, now I should get this. I keep thinking nah… I can use soap, it gets the job done but not as clean as what the brush detergent achieved! hehe cute rabbit and I recognize the veil! 😉

Wow, your brushes look so clean! What a shame it’s not available here as I’d love to try it! The rabbit’s too cute! 😉

Isabel: can’t agree more. it beats anything that i have ever used!

Connie: other soaps really can get the job done but really cannot get the brand new feeling for the brushes.

gio: too bad daiso is not available to u 🙁

Jan: it works for any brushes/puffs/sponges!

Hahaha… I LOL’ed at PB’s comment about the rabbit and your response, Xin! Yep, definitely recognize the veil…

I shall now go and hunt this brush cleaner down at Daiso the next time I am there.

I love it for my daily makeup sponges. It makes them last longer than any other detergent. Must review. =D

I usually use my shampoo for my brushes.

But seeing is believing and i will definitely buy a bottle of this brush detergent to try the next time i’m in Daiso!
