Do u suffer from PMS?

by xin on August 12, 2008

Ahhh for the past few days i have been suffering from serious PMS, my period was late for 2 days, so everything just seemed screwed up for me.

To worsen the situation, I need to find a roof to stay by the end of this month as my current landlord is moving out, I have the choice of either following him or, find a place to stay myself.

With so much shit together, I was expecting my period to come earlier as I am going to Krabi this coming sunday, I wouldn’t want my period to come during the beach and water vacation.

So, I was in such frustration that I felt like killing everyone in sight, and stabbing myself multiple times with the fruit knife.

Ahhhhhhhh how do u handle PMS? Enlighten me!

Hmm I don’t know whether to agree or disagree with Cass. She’s right that if you take the oral contraceptive pill now, you could delay your period from coming. But then it will screw up the next few cycles.

Hot water bottle and chocolates :)

I’m assuming you’re referring to the irritability and depression associated with PMS?

The most common treatment is of course still oral contraceptive pills to regulate your hormones. Studies have also been done to show that a short course of antidepressants right before that month of the month is indeed very effective.

Both treatments mentioned above are widely recommended by doctors in Australia. Not too sure about Msia though.

Otherwise, try taking evening primrose oil (EPO), which a lot of people find helpful in alleviating symptoms of PMS.

Hope you feel better soon. :)

Nikki: yah i finally realized tht warm water does help.

Connie: I LURVEEE spongbob!!!

cass: i really bought the pill…i took only one, then period came!

Tine: yeah the pharmacist said if i can take 3 OCP a day till whenever i want my period to come, but i tot its too much hormones for me, so i just took only one and waited.

MisSmall: yeshh i was extremely irritable. Any recommendation for brand for EPO? :D

All EPO’s pretty much do the same thing IMO. It’s all about marketing sometimes.

For a peace of mind, Nature’s Way, Nature’s Own, and Bioglan are pretty good. Of course, the well-known one being Blackmores.

Sorry, I’m not very familiar with local brands, but they should all do the job. :)

I drink milk. It helps. I’ve been having PMS for the past few days and I realized I forgot to drink milk for 2 weeks. I drank last night, went to bed, and feel much better.

The calcium in the milk helps. I wrote something about this earlier here if you’re interested. http://www.vivawoman.net/2006/11/02/milk-reduces-pms-symptoms/
