Yah, this is my glasses. 🙁
Notice the slightly thicker lens? Well, I am actually one eye blind! I have power of about 350 for my right eye while it is only 25 for my left eye. How did this happen? Well I am not quite sure. I always forget to wear my glasses as I can still see things clearly with my single eye.
Now, I have been considering. Should I switch to contact lens for convenience sake? Since I am only one-eye short sighted, it also means I only need to wear one side of lens. Sounds good eh?
Actually, I have a not-so-pleasant with contact lens and that’s why i am shying away from wearing them.
My first time was with the help of a local optical shop staff, my friend was buying some new contact lenses so I just went along with her, and was persuaded to try on an eye given to my one-eye blind condition. I had to stretch my eye REAL big to let her pop the lens in for me. And 30 secs later, my eye was tearing real bad, due to the discomfort. So, she had to remove the lens for me.
Since then I never tried on anymore, but I have always tried to persuade myself to go for it as sometimes I forget to bring my glasses.
There are so many types of contact lens in the market now, my friend is wearing the type those that will enlarge your cornea and she looks like a Japanese doll!
Time has changed, and we can easily just buy contact lenses online now, this is probably a good reason for me to move with time as well. So, should I go contacts or not? What about you?
P/S: A guy friend of mine literally broke a few pieces of contact lens before he could do it really fluently…

It is really easy once you are you used to them. I’ve used them for 7-8 years now:) I loved the optician/scientist whoever creates contact lenses. It makes life so much easier for ppl like me:)
Erm… lasik? 😉 Take heart. I was sporting power of 900+ in both eyes. Can you say certifiably blind? I still wore glasses because I hated contacts – dried my eyes and I had to work longish hours so I had to carry my specs anyway.
not all brands of contact lens suit everybody, you have to try out a few brands before deciding which one is the most comfortable one for you.
i’ve tried CIBA (yearly disposable), and B&L (monthly disposable) and currently i’m very happy with FreshKon 🙂
and yes, Lasik is also another consideration 🙂
don;t marry yourself to contact lens or specs…
go do LASIK! 🙂
i used to wear it everyday. now i just use it when im free or when i have to leave my glasses behind cuz i used to be really tired and lazy after a whole day and i would even forget to take out my lenses!! luckily nothing happened. but it’s still very dangerous to leave it on like that. u could try, if u are hardworking, it’s no problem. 😉
pinky: I am scared!
parisb: my housemate did a lasik, and she has now abandoned her glasses. and the pain was only for 2 days
erizabesu: i saw the freshkon ad, and i really like the girl with the bright and big cornea
davors: before i can go lasik, i have to marry myself to either of them 🙁
Patricia: yeah my fren told me her eye got really irritated after forgetting to take them out for a night. and i can imagine myself forgetting about my lens if i ever use one…
Wearing contact lens is just like riding a bike. At first it seems impossible, but once you get used to it, you start wondering why was it so hard for you before.
I’m too chicken to do lasik, but oh-so-tempted!
I don’t like wearing glasses cos they leave a mark on my nose bridge. Only wear it at home. Outside, contact lenses. But with contact lenses, you just need to ensure that you don’t wear them for long hours.
maybe you check with your opthalmologist and see which one would suit you better?
MisSmall: i think LASIK is not so skery…i want to save bullets to d o it!
sesame: yeah i agree, during the day when i have foundation on, the stupid glasses will tear off my foundation off the nose bridge.
Nikki: they said contact is the best for me, but im too chicken!
Lasik those babies 😉
hahahah cacated, see this is what you get for not introducing girls to me..i go tell ah loon
hey hey came into your site while googling for Maybelline smooth pencil shadow. I bought one, the same color as yours! And found it not nice to be put on lid as compared to while applied on hand. Had been checking out ur archives since last night a nice site you have! I’m new in make up hence learning lots from your site, thanks! =) Hope you don’t mind me leaving a comment in ur old post. Coz this is the first time I come across someone who’s ‘blind at one eye’, like me!can’t resist commenting here! hahahaha…!! We had it at different sides tho. So are you wearing one side contact lens now? I am. hehe…at my left eye. =)
ychu: thanks 😀 now im a fully contact-lens convert. glasses were giving me nausea, according to the optician, the distance from my eyeball to the glass is too far hence cannot adjust my issue. Now, i have no problem wearing contact lens at all
