Easy French Tip Sexy Zebra Nail Art Tutorial

by xin on October 28, 2011

Hi pretties, aren’t you glad that it’s Friday again?

It’s been a 2 day off for me, but definitely not enough, certainly wouldn’t mind for more holidays 😉

Nail art is fun and …rewarding 😀 Complicated designs aside, I am going to show you something simpler today for a French Tip manicure.

Zebra French Tip Manicure Tools

You will need: top and base coat, a color of your choice, french tip stickers, and also any white polish and a fine art brush.

Zebra French Tip Manicure first step

Using a tweezer, pick the stickers and place it around 1/4 off the edge of your nails.

Then, brush on the base on on the area that you are going to apply your nail polish:

*Tip: Reason of not applying base coat on the entire nail is, if your base is not completely really dry, when you peel off the sticker, you are going to ruin the base coat.

And I like to use stickers on days when I feel the need to be ‘perfectionist’.

Zebra French Tip Manicure with A Oui Bit of Red

I am choosing red because currently I am in love with this red – A Oui Bit of Red.

It’s a very pigmented and smooth polish, and what you see in the picture is only one thin application. Perfect!

Let it dry thoroughly then proceed with nail art. Otherwise, you can just stop here and peel off the stickers already 😀

Zebra French Tip Manicure Draw Zebra

Using a thin art brush, try to create some random stripes mimicking zebra stripes. You can google up ‘zebra prints’ so you will have a guide.

Zebra French Tip Manicure Done

Do the same for 10 nails before you remove the stickers. Let it dry thoroughly.

Zebra French Tip Manicure Completed

Remove the stickers ( I prefer to use a tweezer for a more precise grip), apply a top coat and you are done!

It’s relatively easy and with the guide of stickers, it can easily look perfect 😉

Time taken: About 40 minutes till dry.

Level of DIY Difficulty:  4/10.
