Effortless way to create an even and dewy complexion – The Beauty Blender Makeup Sponge

by xin on July 13, 2011

When I first saw Beauty Blender on Nikki’s blog, I was impressed by the little sponge, but at the same time I did not like the price.

However, I have kept this little cutie in mind till one day I finally ‘splurged’ and got this with free shipping promo code from Kissandmakeupny.com.

Beauty Blender

Say Hello to my cutie!

I like the shape and the color already, before I even used it :D

Beauty Blender Squished

It is just nice to hold, squishy and of course it will bounce back to its original shape after you release it.

Upon first application, I’d advise you to wash it because we will never know where it came from before it was packaged.

I have washed it a few times and it still bleeds.

Ouch!

Beauty Blender Dabbed

To use it, I pumped the foundation on the back of my hand and dab it with the damped sponge. The result is better than when it is used dry.

If you sponge is too wet, you can cover it with a piece of tissue and squeeze the water out again.

Beauty Blender - Model 1

The result:

Only one thin layer of foundation.  You can see that the redness around nose disappeared and the dark circle has been quite visibly lightened.

Impressive!

Beauty Blender - Model 2

Now, moving on to my own skin.

The pointy part reaches the side of the nose easily and also under eye.

As for the big base, you can use it to dab on your cheeks :D

Overall, I quite like the result and the experience of using this Beauty Blender. It is much easier to hold than using a normal pancake sponge.

It might be pricier, but you will take better care of it too :P

CAUTION:

If you have long finger nails, do NOT over squeeze the sponge else you might cause injury to this baby!

:(

Be careful everyone!

Price: USD$20.

Availability: Not sure about the local availability but you can get it from www.kissandmakeupny.com

I’ve been thinking about beauty-blender for some time cause I like liquid foundations. The price always put me off though :(
Do you feel that it’s the shape or the texture of the BB sponge that makes it work well for liquid founds? Thx! :)

i was put off by the price too but glad that i finally bought it. i think it is a combination of the texture and the shape. the texture with the right size of the pores (if it is what it’s called) can absorb the foundation but also releasing it. i have tried some sponge which totally drank up my foundation. and the shape (esp the tip) helps to reach the corner nicely

dom, I don’t think it will work very well with mineral powders, I still find those dense buffing type brushes better. The Beauty Blender works very well with liquid or cream based products though.

I have the cleanser, it’s not bad and smells really nice but any facial wash will do.
