Every morning, my routine before heading to work is – wakeup, bath, breakfast, then dash out of house. I don’t usually put on make up everyday, but at the minimum, I have blusher and lipstick on.
My lipstick application is usually done in the car, particularly at the traffic lights (if lucky), otherwise it’s on the go (oops!). So, overtime I realized that getting lip-perfect while on the go is not as easy as it seems, especially when a more challenging lipstick is used.
Here I have a series of photos taken few days in a row to show you the result of different lip color:
On Monday, I used Maybelline lip polish. It’s quite easy to apply due to the gloss and error is less visible. Precise application is less important. I use this quite frequently because it’s easy to apply and the color really brightens up any look.
On Tuesday, I used a Guerlain Rouge G. The color is awesome, it’s creamy and glides on easily. However, it is also the toughest to get it right. I tend to make the mistake of coloring beyond my lips hence creating an uneven big lips instead of looking luscious.
As you can see from the picture, I had an uneven lips as a result of driving and applying lipstick at the same time.
On Wednesday, I used a Dior Extreme, I love the formula as it’s easy to apply, and it’s creamy! It’s so easy to use that it’s almost fool-proof.
On Thursday, I used a Revlon Balm Stain. I like that it’s long lasting and it’s not very drying. In fact, if you have lip balm prior to application, the balm stain will not adhere as well as on naked lips. The crayon kind tip makes it easier to ‘outline’ the lips without the risk of over-coloring.
That’s the chronology of my lips in a work week, and I usually only use whatever it’s my bag. Sometimes I am amazed by what I can find in my bag. It’s definitely a sign that I need to spring clean my bag before the straps snap due to the excess weight!
So..do you apply lipstick in your car like I do?
