Over the weekend, I hopped to KL Convention Center just for Hakuhodo to pick up one brush…and of course, I picked up more than what I intended.
And it got me thinking, I am actually on a brush frenzy lately.
Here are all the additional brushes to my collection in just 2 months!
My first haul of Hakuhodo brushes was in Singapore when they had the roadshow in Takashimaya.
I wasn’t really sure what to pick so I picked a popular blush brush, and 3 eye shadow brushes.
And goodness! They are so soft and I am hooked! I can’t recall the individual prices but it was about RM270 for these.
Then, a good friend picked up this Lam Sam Yick blush brush for me in Taiwan, I bought it simply because it just looks tooooo adorable to miss!
The bristles aren’t as soft as Hakuhodo, but it certainly beats Haku in terms of outlook.
However, it’s not really cheap, it cost about RM180+ for this brush.
And…these are my most recent purchase.
It’s a special set at RM609 and it comes in a set of a powder brush, foundation brush and 3 eye shadow brushes of goat/sythetic hair, blue squirrel hair and horse hair.
And the powder brush is oh so lovely! It feels like a fluffy cotton candy is caressing my skin!
So, this is the frenzy that bit me all of a sudden, and I need to put a pause to it before it wipes out my bank account!
Have you been bitten lately? 😉

Thankfully you’re on the other side of the world and you can’t enable me. Yet. Well done with splurging on nice new tools. I find brushes can either make or break your routine. INdividual review please on powder and blush brush?

the LSY brush isn’t the softest kind if you have tried hakus, actually most of the generic brands for brushes (even high end, am looking at you NARS) aren’t as soft as haku if they were to compare. but the LSY is certainly cute la!
that jade colour handle powder brush look so cantik la! the haku blush brush, izzit the J210?

good eye! the blush brush is J210, one of the most popular ones it seems. for the LSY brushes, they certainly win in the appearance department 😀 ah am trying to forget the flower kabuki, even though i don’t use kabuki. LOL

I agree with you that once you start with Haku brushes, you will never stop. LOL. I love how soft my J505 feels on my face when applying blush to the extend that I apply the brush over my face more than usual. Hahaha. My next aim is the powder and eye brush. Do you think there will be a big difference in prices (after conversion) if I were to get in Singapore as oppose to the price in Malaysia and also is there a mark difference in price if I were to order it online?
hi victoria, I agree that the softness of the brushes is like poison! once you start you cannot go back >< I think it's just a few RM more expensive in SGD due to the VAT, but if you are flying into singapore, make sure you get some refund! (provided that i think u spend a minimal $100 to be eligible). I think if you see it in MY again, it's much better to get it locally as the prices are really good. It's not too bad online, but you are subjected to expensive postage from the US haku site, and also possibility of being taxed by the custom. And, that will really kill

Hakuhodo is coming back in August! You can come and pick up some items then 🙂 I got myself 2 brushes from Haku too when they were at Taka.

Owhh I love Hakuhodo.. I have a J5523 and J242G and nothing beats them! The bristles are so soft and they pick the right amount of products too. I am thinking of getting a liquid foundation brush. can you recommend?

Depending on your budget, shiseido has a pretty decent flat top foundation brush that’s under rm100!
