Hands up if you love oil!
The first bath oil that I have tried was from REN, and I absolutely loved it! However, due to the rather steep price, it’s hard to keep up with the luxurious indulgence.
I am glad that I found a nice alternative that is less bank breaking – L’occitane Almond Shower Oil.
Comes in 250ml bottle, or jumbo size, it can last for quite some time if you use it once or twice weekly.
The shower oil is light but smooth, and you won’t need a lot for the body.
The dispenser is easy to use in shower and it won’t break since it’s housed in a plastic bottle.
I usually use it after shower gel, lather it with water and spread it on your body. If you shave during shower, I find that
It has a nice sweet almond oil scent, and it sinks into skin without leaving the oily film. The scent does not linger very long and it disappears after a while.
However, be sure to rinse your bathroom floor thoroughly to prevent slipping & falling.
Price: RM95/250ml
After I use the shower oil, I like to follow up with almond body oil for longer lasting scent and softer skin.
Since it’s housed in a glass bottle, more care is needed, I like that the bottle comes with a little cap to secure it to prevent it from leaking if you travel with it.
Similar to the bath oil, almond skin oil is also light and easy to apply and it’s absorbed into the skin easily without the feeling of ‘film’.
This oil is even safe for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers to prevent/reduce stretch marks or as massage oil. However, I can’t attest to this as I am using it as moisturizer and I like to using it during the day when I have to stay in air-conditioned office for almost 9 hours. It feels like a treat, and a ‘feel good’ factor at work.
Price: RM187/100ml
Overall, I am liking this almond duo from L’occitane, although I could be biased since I am a fan of oil. For starter, maybe you can try out with the shower oil since it is cheaper compared to the skin oil, and you will be able to get a feel of if you will like any oil at all 🙂
Have you tried them and do you enjoy them like I do? 😉

Hmmm… never used an oily shower gel before but it sounds a bit high maintenance. My husband is a klutz so slippery bathroom floors will not bode well with him.

I’ve been told that this combo works really well to heal eczema and sensitive skin. Haven’t tried it though. It’s quite expensive by my standards…but I’m waiting for my “ingredients” to arrive so I can experiment making my own body oils 🙂
