Review: Braving myself to 101 Hair Care Centre (Mid Valley Outlet)

by prettybeautiful on May 24, 2010

I know we see tonnes of hair loss advertisement on the papers, on the billboard, but I never ever thought of looking twice. But just starting last year, I started to notice hair loss on top of my head.

With the hair thinning thought haunting me, I finally braved myself for a scalp check-up. I know it is really disturbing and hard-to-face-it for some, but I thought I should do something about it before it’s too late.

101 Hair Care Centre Mid Valley

Stepping into 101 Hair Care Centre in Mid Valley Boulevard. (Previously known as Beijing 101)

My heart was pounding very fast as I waited at the lounge. It felt like I was going for a major body check-up.

I was required to fill in some personal particulars then was brought into the consultation room. It was 1-1 consultation and it was very personal.

This is the machine used for checking my scalp condition.

*WARNING: PICTURES BELOW MIGHT GROSS YOU OUT.

sebum

The main cause for my hair loss is – over production of sebum hence clogging my hair follicles! Gosh! But I wash my hair twice daily!

*deep sigh*

Next, I was brought to the next room for another check-up known as – Demodex follicle mites analysis.

They used a pin of my head to extract some specimen for scalp, it is like extracting blackheads. Might be a little bit painful but it is done very fast.

Then, they will place the specimen underneath the microscope to check for any mites that might be inhibiting INSIDE your hair follicle.

Checked. Clear. *phew*

Finally, deep cleanse treatment time!

I was given a good hair wash, and a good massage to relieve my really tensed up scalp.

Then, a solution is used to cleanse my scalp for DEEP cleansing.

The consultant was doing a really neat job by cleansing my scalp inch by inch.

The feeling of thoroughly cleansed scalp is awesome!

Then, a comb with solution (nourishing comb) was used to pat on my scalp. This is actually the hair-growth essence. The patting motion will help to promote the penetration of the essence.

Next, this is the acupuncture machine. Yeah the feeling of tonnes of needles hitting your scalp.

It felt tingling and a bit of electrical shock.  See? It’s definitely a pleasure to service my scalp!

Additionally, they also provide a heat pillow for your back. It felt really good to warm my back after a whole tiring day.

The whole treatment took about an hour.

And I was led to the consultation room again for second check-up. This time, I felt more confident.

clean scalp

A thoroughly cleansed scalp!!! Beautiful!

before and after treatment

And my before-after picture of the scalp. As you can see, most of the sebum were removed and I also learnt that – all my life, I shampoo my hair the wrong way! Oh well, I hope there is still hope for my hair loss trouble.

As usual, at the end of the treatment I was given some introduction of the products and treatment package. I was told that just 10 treatments with the use of products and supplement to revive my hair.

I am actually considering it, as I want to rescue my hair before it’s too late.

Anyone has something to share with me?

consultant gigi

My consultant of the day – Gigi Choy.

She is friendly and not pushy at all. So, if you would like to try out the treatment, you can engage her. She is stationed in the Mid Valley Outlet.

The treatment above is charged RM406.  Sometimes they have promotion on the papers, so you can look out for it.

Looks like she did a good job and it’s great she wasn’t pushy. I hate when that happens. I hope your hair gets better soon.

Chris: Watch out for newspaper ad, sometimes they have a special trial fee. The treatment DID work to cleanse my scalp, however, it was only one-time, I can’t say it helped my hair growth or not.
