Shiseido Peel-Off Facial Mask

by xin on November 24, 2008

When I was buying my pumpkin soap, I picked this Shiseido peel-off facial mask as well at RM5. I don’t know if this is really out from Shiseido, the packaging somehow looks dubious.  It is a peel-off mask.

Scooping it out from the pack, it is REAL black and dries up quite fast if you apply only a thin layer. The instruction says I shall leave it on for 30 mins then peel it off.  So, how did it score?

Good: Leaving my skin quite clean, extracting all my whiteheads and some black heads.

1. Painful in peeling it off, seriously ouch! And my facial hair was also pulled out! 🙁
2. Very hard to feel off the entire sheet as it hurt too much. I couldn’t continue it on the cheeks as it felt like as though peeling my skin off.
3. I then resorted to spritz it with water then tried to scrub it off with my finger, unfortunately, the mask was so stubborn, it just refused to come off from my face! In the end, I spent almost 20 mins to clean my face because of the stupid stain. And the clay stuck everywhere in my nails.

Conclusion: I guess I won’t ever buy this again. Too much hassle and mess.

ohh I’ve tried a somewhat similar mask, it’s made in Korea, and it’s white. I know what you mean about peeling it off!!! PLUS facial hair!! OUCH!

i thought that is the main reason for peeling mask?

I mean nowadays they do it that when you peel off, they will peel your facial hair too!

Reminds me of the Kose blue one. But the Kose one doesn’t feel as painful as how you’ve described.

I’m also surprised it states sensitive skin care. Usually such peel off masks are not recommended for this skin type.

I agree with Sesame, this mask does sound similar to Kose’s Seikisho Mask White. I’d love to try this mask, RM5 is very affordable for a Shiseido product but, it does sound slightly dubious, yes?

Nikki: pulling facial hair is just too ouch!

Lisa: peel off mask is designed to peel off facial hair as well? hmmm thts interesting

sesame: Have never tried kose one, but all i know this, this mask is a little too drying to my face

Engmin: yeah RM5 for a shisedo mask, not so trusty right? but if u r keen to try this, u can get it from the shop i mentioned above 🙂

Hi pretty!
I saw this mask online, for RM2.50. It’s mainly used on the nose to extract blackheads. So, a 12g packet can be used approximately 5 times.

Looks like tar xD
Not something I would really be jumping at the opportunity to put on my face.

I would have to agree that peeling off this mask is incredibly painful especially the first few times. But its so effective! Once I saw all the gunk it removed, I could never go on a month without it =8D

i use this regularly, but don’t find it particularly painful actually. It’s only very effective for me if I steam my face briefly before applying it, if I don’t, the results are only so-so.

I also bought the white version of this mask, supposed to be very effective in refining pores but I think it’s only really good for a bit of exfoliation. Oh and the white one is wayyy more painful than the black to peel off.
