Sun Screen that makes you glow: Clarins UV Plus HP Day Screen Protection SPF40

by xin on April 6, 2011

Hello beauties! I am excited to announce that I will be out there embracing the sun (weather won’t be too cold I hope) in just another 2 weeks time. YEAY!

And and, sun screen that I am bringing with me? Definitely will be the upgraded version of Clarins UV Plus HP Day Screen Protection SPF40 this round!

Clarins UV Plus HP Day Screen Protection SPF40

Clarins UV Plus HP Day Screen Protection SPF40 comes in 2 versions: Pink-tinted and transparent. This is the tinted version as you can see a colored label on the bottle.

Other than having the unique Sea Lily as the main ingredient, Cantaloupe melon extract is the another value added ingredient that makes this product a success.

Cantaloupe melon from Provence.

There are quite a number of melon members and they are quite confusing! However, I don’t think this is the usual Rock melon that we can find in supermarket (which is also quite expensive at about RM30/pc). ‘Cantaloupe’ generally also means any orange-fleshed melon.

The specialty about Cantaloupe melon is – it’s rich in superoxide dismutase (SOD), an enzyme that fights with oxidation.

Cantaloupe melon extract provides skin with SOD that reinforces its defense capacities against primary free radicals and in particular, the superoxide ion, and helps skin with further protection against visible signs of premature aging.

Or simply, it can protect our skin from the sun!

Clarins UV Plus HP Day Screen Protection SPF40 Size on Hand

It looks rather tiny on hand but it is 30ml and no less! I like the design of the bottle as it is very easy to lug around.

The opening is rather small but good enough for you to pour out the amount you need at one go. All my sun screens are in tubes, which can be messy as they tend to spill when there is an external air pressure.

Clarins UV Plus HP Day Screen Protection SPF40 Blended

Some may not like the tinted version, but I love it because the pink tint makes my skin glow and luminous! It feels very light weight with a faint fragrance and does not leave a white cast on skin.

I have been using it for a month and I am glad to say that it did not break me out nor dry my skin during the day. I have to stop using my ex-sun screen during the work days because it dries me out badly.

You will need about 2 small dollops like this to cover your entire face and neck! I notice myself that I tend to skip my neck area when I am wearing a necklace as I don’t want product to be in touch with the chain. But ever since I decided to take it off, my neck is never neglected again 😀 I certainly do not want to have wattles on me 🙁

Clarins UV Plus HP Day Screen Protection SPF40 is 100% mineral screen with titanium dioxide crystals ensures optimal tolerance, suitable for even the most sensitive skin.

Availability: Starting from 1/4/2011 at all Clarins counter and Skin Spa.

Price: RM158/30ml (transparent & pink-tinted)

So effing expensive, but I like it too! Ah crap! I use a lot more than you do and it doesn’t make me oily either. Crap! >.<

This gets the thumbs up from me too! I tried it out for a full 18-hr day and…no oil slick at the end. 🙂

Ah I completely love this sunscreen! I’ve been using it since the older version and have never looked back 😉 The true test of this sunscreen was when I went for a waterfall trip with my friends, and I got sunburnt on my body but not my face 😀 It also never broke me out (Touch wood) despite me having very sensitive skin. I like the newer version (The one you’re having right now) compared to the older one- the older one seems slightly oilier IMO, but works just as good.

i was just looking for a new sun screen. wanted to buy loreal matte spf30, but some told me it was too good to be true for such low price. i am going off for my backpacking trip to a place with very intense sunlight and i definitely hope this works for me because i do have breakouts here and there.
btw, if we were to avoid the eyes when putting sunblock, what takes care our eyes then? and if we were to put the tinted ones, won’t our eyes look awkward without application?
p/s: a new dummy to make-up and needs a lot a lot of advice here

thanks! ^^

To be honest if u are heading somewhere with intense sunlight, this will not be sufficient for u. I recommend u try sunplay with 130spf or 65spf. I did a review of laneige eye protector perhaps u can check out 🙂 this clarins tinted moisturizer will not make your eyes look weird without application but it does make a good makeup base. Hope this can help u 😉
