About 1.5 years ago when I bought a bottle of Kiehl’s Midnight Concentrate Recovery, I finally finished the bottle recently.
A 30ml of oil lasted me for more than a year and I used it very sparingly.

And a few months back, I was introduced with a new method to mix Kiehl’s Midnight Concentrate Recovery with the Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution for even better result.
Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution
Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution is a whitening serum that is designed to target discoloration and dark spots, using a key ingredient called Activated-C. It claims that you can see the result of black spot reduction with just 2 week’s usage.
Housed in a clear bottle, it’s easy to see how much of product you have left. And i was made to understand that the vitamin C ingredient is very stable hence it can be kept in a clear glass bottle and will not oxidize. Of course, you shouldn’t place it underneath or near the sun.
It’s a gel-like texture, watery and slightly runny. It feels very light and being absorbed into skin easily. It has a faint fragrance because it contains lavender oil too! (yeay!) The way to use it is to dab it on the dark spots, but I used 2 drops for the entire face, just in case
I am not sure if I did see significant result but the dark spot patch has been lightened a lot with all the whitening and after 2 sessions of laser treatment.
Kiehl’s Midnight Concentrate Recovery
Unlike the other face oil, the texture is on the runny side and it glides on skin easily. The scent is really soothing and calming with the lavender properties.
Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution + Kiehl’s Midnight Concentrate Recovery
You can’t really see from picture but the center drop is the midnight concentrate recovery.
My formula for using the 2 products together is by mixing 2 drops of dark spot solution + 2 drops of midnight concentrate depending on the dryness of my skin.
When I use them together, the oil is actually diluted and feel more hydrating and cooling too. If you have very oily skin, maybe you can adopt this formula to reduce the oily feeling
I will usually only use the Midnight Recovery Concentrate at night because I am a little wary about the photo-sentivity of lavender if I use it during the day. But I do use the Dark Spot Solution during the day pairing with face cream. So far it’s been working rather well without breaking me out and it’s actually moisturizing enough.
Midnight Recovery Eye
I have been a long-term user of eye cream, so far I have not seen any eye creams that revolutionize but I do not have a severe dark eye circle or eye bag to begin with.
However, I like the fact that this eye cream also contains lavender essential oil. Some say that by applying it around their eyes it actually helps them to sleep better. I can’t really testify that because the scent is actually very very light, and it probably disappears before it reaches my nose.
The texture of this eye cream is creamy but once you spread it, it feels silky, a little definitely goes a long way. It’s pricey for an eye cream but it can last you for months.
In a nut shell, I am quite liking this combination especially for the face because it gives me plump and and hydrated skin, especially the calming effect that lavender essential oil brings. The initial cost might seem expensive, but really, the MRC will easily last you for a year even if you use it day and night. However, the Dark Spot Corrector will only last 2-3 months with daily use.
