Being a Konad user for almost 2 months now, i am still no expert in this, but along my nail-experiment way, i have found some tips and tricks that i would like to share with all of you dear ladies, especially those who are using/intending to start on using this Konad Nail Art Stamping.
1. Basically, you just need a simple kit to begin with. I bought my first basic set, just the few items needed.
2. If you wish to stamp a smaller print, or on your little nails, i strongly advise you to get a smaller rubber stamp for easier work. As you can see from picture, it is about half of the size of the regular ones. It is much easier to handle tiny print.
3. After you are done with your nail art, I advise you not to use regular top coat to cover the printing. Use ONLY konad top coat, as it DOES NOT smudge at all whereas the regular ones will smudge your print like crazy. It is only at RM16 and will last you quite a long while. So, this is a must-have item.
4. Sometimes, i am trapped in the stupid stamping bottleneck, where my stamp just can’t pick up any color from the plate at all! Or, not the complete stamp. I assure you that it is very frustrating. I have tried buffing the stamp but it did no result at all. Thank goodness that the guru of Konad, NailPhile advised me to add thinner (nail color solvent) into the konad special polish to dilute it a little. It works for me! Not too much though, just 2 drops into the bottle and voila! The availability of this is subject to nail stores or saloons though. It should not cost more than RM10 for the non-branded ones. They are the same anyway.
I have only 4 tips now, I hope this will help you and I will update this from time to time. Please feel free to add more for me! I will be all ears and willing to learn! 😀

What other top coats did you use before using the Konad Top Coat?
I just ordered the Konad Top Coat, but I read somewhere else that it still smudged for them.
I was wondering if your top coats were thick or thin?
Thanks.
Ingrid: before i bought my konad top coat, i was using normal top coat from various brands, but all of them smudge on me!
till i bought this, my print never smudges again 🙂 love it! and of course, you have to wait a little while for the print to dry before painting on this topcat. this konad topcoat is actually slightly thicker than the normal one. hope this helps!
I’m a guy and I use this.
For the top coat, it helps to very lightly dab the top coat on the imgage then let it set for 2 minutes then apply it the way you normally would. The Konad brand doesn’t smudge as badly but it’s very expensive. Here in Canada it’s like $10 for a measily 10ml when I can go spend $7 for 15ml bottle of Revlon and if you apply it like I said, it works very well.
Hi,
As for tip #2, there is also a double sided stamper.
I have a few suggestion that may increase your success with the image picking up on the stamp. It works for me just about every time.
1 Make sure that the surface you are working on is solid, like a tabletop or counter top. Do not work on a carpet or anything that is spongy. Not even a cardboard box.
Do not thickly fold up towels or paper towels underneath the plate or plate holder if you are using one. Use a thin towel or flat paper towel if you insist on using one. If the surface is too spongy, it won’t work right.
Also, a warped plate may not work very well. You may be able to scrape into the contours of the warping rather than across it.
The Konad top coat doesn’t work for me at all, smudges every time. I use Seche Vite it works the best, but can still smudge occasionally. Good luck every one!
