At what age do you think aging starts?
At what age should you start using anti-aging products?
I guess these 2 are one of the most common questions asked. I used to think that aging starts after 25, and that’s the time when we should start using ant-aging products.
But, think again, aging actually starts as soon as after we are born!
It means, we are growing old with every breath :O It actually makes some sense, it’s just that there will be no wrinkles/fine lines to battle with when we are young.
Clarins has been one of the pioneers in anti-aging products as early as 1985 from 2 bottles of products for one function for older skin (40s and above), and this year, they have a whole new serum that targets 5 functions in 1 bottle.
It’s called Double Serum because it is all in one bottle with perfect ratio of water and oil.
It’s a unique bottle with 2 chambers (Hydric and Lipidic) that pumps out the perfect and precise amount every time. It’s convenient that you don’t have to do your own maths of drops of water vs oil.
The first intensive anti-ageing skin care treatment which reactivates the skin’s 5 vital functions, taking into account weaknesses linked to changes in lifestyle and the environment such as age, stress, pollution and sun exposure. All of these contribute to making them slower and less efficient. Skin no longer as radiant and beautiful as it was. By helping to reactivate these essential functions, Double Serum is naturally the fundamental treatment for ageing.
It sounds all fancy alright, so how does it really fare?
This is how one full pump looks like. The transparent is the oil while the orangey liquid is the water-based.
It provides moisture alright, but if you have dry skin, you may need another hydrating serum. Otherwise, you can even use this alone without a moisturizer.
The texture is light, and easily absorbed into skin. The beauty about this formulation is, water helps to tone down the greasiness, especially for those who shy away from oils. Sadly, the oily skin or acne prone skin might not like this though.
It has a pleasant light fruity/floral scent to it. I was using this day and night for a month, then I reduced it to nightly use.
The first few days of using it, I noticed REALLY glowy skin. However, I had not noticed any drastic improvement with continuous usage. Must be the curse of new products again. But what’s left was the even skin tone. I can’t tell you how effective it is in combating fine lines, but it did not break me out and I enjoyed using it.
My simple summary as below:
- Radiant Skin – Yes
- Firmer Skin – Can’t feel much difference
- Hydration Skin – Not too bad
- Reduced Wrinkles – Not sure
- Toned Skin – Not sure
- Even Complexion – YES
- Smooth Skin – Not sure
- Less Visible Pores – Not sure
