Your say: Do you dare to gua-sha?

by xin on October 7, 2011

Being a Chinese I am, I have tried gua-sha treatment a few times, done my by aunt who is a beautician with real knowledge of this treatment.

Traditionally, it is meant to ‘scrap away’ any heat or knots in your body. And also to improve blood circulation. The first tool that I knw was used was usually ceramic spoon, and then fork.

After gua sha

The result of gua-sha, and usually will subside after 2 days.

gua sha tool

I have a tool at home myself, but I don’t usually use it unless I am suffering from bodyache, but of course, my pressure will not be as strong as the professional.

Your say: Have you ever been or do you dare?

I had it done once. Though it did ease the knots and all…… it is awfully painful. The pain, for me, lasts 2 weeks! I don’t think I can bring myself to that experience again.

Have tried gua sha on face and a bit on the shoulder…don’t remember if I’ve done the full back though. It’s okay, I don’t mind since I can’t see the red marks. LOL.
