Over the years, I have used countless body lotions, however, I realized that I tend to favor the fragrance ones, especially the rose or lavender scent. Even with DIY with lotion base, my choice of essential oil is either rose geranium or lavender essential oils.
Recently, I started using Kielh’s body lotion andΒ I was quite disappointed that it does not have any fragrance to it.Β π
Some may have the arguments that it’s better to be fragrance-free as it has less chemicals etc. It may be true but I can’t deny that scent is one of top priorities in selecting a lotion. After all, don’t we love to smell good? π
Now over to you, is fragrance important in your body lotion department? Would you stop using a body lotion just because it has no fragrance even though it works really well?

i like to put on lotions with fragrance especially for the night, but not when i am going out, as i find it interferes with the fragrance I put on, unless it’s from the same range π

you are right π i use the lotion in the day so i don’t have 10000x scents clashing with each other

I have very dry skin so it’s hard for me to find a good body lotion that’s moisturizing enough for it. So, when I find one that works, I don’t care if it has a fragrance or not. Of course if it does, and it is lovely, all the better.

if it’s good, I don’t mind if it’s unscented.
I agree with you that the joy of using a body lotion is its scent. I am a bit of crazy woman when it comes to body moisturizers. My chest and back are very prone to break outs so I use Neutrogena’s sensitive skin lotion for those areas and hit up the rest of my body with a fragranced body butter or lotion. My current obsession is vitamin e or jojoba oil, layered with Korres Cinnamon Vanilla Body Milk. But when the weather warms up, I will forgo the oil.
Oops I forgot to answer your qn! Yes I would use an unscented body lotion if it is good (neutrogena sensitive skin moisturizer is unscented and meant for the face but I use it on my body)…but I would use a scented one for places that are “tougher” like legs and arms.
I admit – scent is pretty central to most of the products I use (lip balms/lotions/etc.) so I’m not really likely to use unscented body lotion unless someone bought it for me as a gift.
Hi Xin,
I don’t mind using an unscented body lotion. I am not always comfortable with scents especially when I am having flu. Another reason is that I might want to use a perfume and don’t have a matching lotion. In this case, I would use my perfume and use an unscented body lotion.
What’s your favorite lotion?

Scent is very important for me with body wash but less so with body lotion. I’m more particular about the texture with lotion.
