Few weeks back when I shared the news of the opening of The LifeStyle Clinic, I registered myself for a complimentary facial too at the Skin Boutique. Located in Kota Damansara The Strand, it’s new and still undiscovered by many.
The LifeStyle Clinic offers aesthetic treatments (eg lasers, plastic surgery and etc), it has quite an extensive menu for surgical enhancements, and also services like tattoo removal.
On top of the clinic, it is the Skin Boutique. They are linked but has different operations. The Skin Boutique is a complete spa and facial saloon, using a Spanish brand called Anubis. We will talk about The LifeStyle Clinic another time but today I want to share my facial experience at The Skin Boutique.
Once you enter the upstairs, there is a counter right in front and then you will be guided to their lounge before and after treatment for a cup of drink. The usual consultations and advice will take place.
The waiting lounge of the facial is rather spacious yet cozy. It’s nice in the sense that you won’t feel forced and cornered by the beauticians.
The Treatment Room:
One of the treatment rooms for single person. They have a room for couple which is very spacious.
The spa room has a jacuzzi bath tub and a bathroom attached. I would certainly love to try a spa & massage session 😉
I was given a Botanical Breeze Facial (RM318), which is the use of floral products.
My service started with a foot soak in the electric bubble foot massage thing, but I’d prefer a wooden tub of water with essential for the extra aroma and pleasure. Having been to quite a few salons, I have become more picky these days. ^_^
My facial was started with me inhaling some essential oil to relax. Then, it is the usual double cleansing with milk and gel cleanser. It was my first time trying Anubis products and I thought the floral scent of the products is rather strong. After asking a few opinions, it turned out that I was the only one who thought so; well it could be due to my over sensitive nose.
After the cleansing, I was given a rice scrub, it stung a little initially even without AHA. I am not sure if it was contributed by my dry skin -_- Extraction soon started after a steam. I was really impressed by the skills of beautician – almost no pain at all during extraction!
I have low pain tolerance so that says a lot 😀 A few that I have been always left me in tears and had to ask them to stop. But for this, it didn’t hurt as my beautician (Rachel) did it very gently but removing gunk at the same time. Nice 🙂 And right after she was done with a part, a soothing lotion cotton pad was placed to soothe the irritated skin. I think it is also a reason why my face was relatively scarless after the facial even though there was a lot to extract. Double nice!
The treatment followed by a shoulder massage after the extraction. I am glad that the beautician noticed my low pain tolerance so she did not exert her entire body strength. My favorite part of facial is always the mask, started with a base mask, then a rubber mask. I am a fan of rubber mask as it felt really good when it’s finally lifted off my face.
- I am liking the beautician very much because she has good and gentle hands, and she did not try to make conversations! I would really enjoy a quiet time during facials. She only responded when I raised questions and also was quite knowledgeable.
- I also like that they are also not pushy in sales when I said I still have 2 facial packages with other salons. You see, if your service is good, I will be back for sure 😉
The Price of Facial Treatments:
The cheapest Quickie facial is at RM98, and regular facial at RM198. They have a prepaid card plan, it is something like RM500 of credit you get RM50 or so extra. There are a few options which I can’t quite remember clearly now.
Area of Improvement:
- I think overall I really enjoyed, but if it had to be one – I wish they will have aromatherapy foot soak 😀
Will I recommend?
Yes definitely especially if you are staying around the corner! 😀
