It’s been long since I last did nails without any nail art, it’s also been really long since I was last charmed by any polishes. No not even the higher end polishes.
When I saw one of the Zoya Mod Mattes Collection, I knew I had to get Lolly! Finally chance has come when Beetrice offered to be our shopping mule 😀
The only thing I wish was – if only Zoya has fatter brushes. I find that bigger brushes are easier to work with, and easier to avoid streaks without having to apply back and forth repeatedly.
One coat of polish and it’s very opaque.
Check out the hot pink! It’s so matte and takes only about 3 secs to dry up. I had a deja vu when I was applying, and it suddenly hit me that the texture is almost similar to Barry M crackle polish. I have tried several crackles from China Glaze, OPI and etc but Barry M still has my heart <3
2 coats of polish and you get really full coverage. It gets slightly streaky but quite minimal.
With flash the color looks pretty close to in person.
The best way to apply this is actually doing a layer with a thicker coat. And with the fast drying time. There is no wait at all! Plus you need not to use a top coat, otherwise the finish will not be matte anymore unless using a matte top coat. Some websites said that you can’t even use a base coat, but I have tried it and I think there is no difference.

Of course if you prefer the glossy finish with hot pink, by all means. But I am liking the matte as it is 🙂
I think I am liking the color so much that I am contemplating to get a backup! <3
The only one downside is….it has chipped just after a day 🙁 such a bummer.

I love what a *shocking* pink this is! It’d be so cool if you did designs with a top coat so the nail art is glossy and the rest are matte. 😀

I’m with Peach! I saw a nail art somewhere where they had a matte base and using a top coat, did a french tip so the tip is glossy. Very interesting!

Such a pretty colour and I love hot pink! It’s too bad it wears off so easily and I’ve read on another blog that the matte blue Zoya chips quite quickly too. Maybe it’s the nature of matte polishes?

The matte looks really really cool. I didn’t get the matte cuz I was worried that with my sloppy application skills I’m gonna get crazy streaks! Now I’m very keen on getting a matte top coat to try out the look! Question is where to find =.= I still can’t find essence accessibly *sighs*
