Hello lovelies, aren’t you glad that it’s Thursday already?
Picture taken at the beach of Hard Rock Hotel Penang.
Over the weekend, I took a little break to the north of Malaysia for a mini-vacation before year 2011 comes to an end.
It’s been a year with ups and downs, but I am glad that I am still breathing…and enjoying good food
I have been to Penang for at least 10 times but this is my far most adventurous trip because together we discovered so many sides & sceneries of Penang that we have never seen before.
Picture taken at Air Itam Water Dam. It’s a hidden road after Kek Lok Si. Follow the back way up and you will find this beautiful view. When we were there, there was no other ‘tourists’ but only locals who jogged in the morning. It’s quiet, tranquil, and peaceful. It’s not heavily advertised tourist spot hence not many know about it.
Of course, what’s a good trip without food?
The crab claypot rice was from Bukit Tambun while the rest of dishes were from Bali Hai restaurant, along the Gurney drive. Hands up shell lovers!
Besides the water dam, we discovered the Malaysia’s Mildford Sound (New Zealand).
It’s all the way after Batu Feringgi, and about 20 km of slightly windy roads. Not that nauseating but the hill roads are not very wide, just enough for 2 sedan cars to move concurrently. Not the best road to be taken but only if you are adventurous enough
Had the best ‘loh mee’ (braised noodles) in life, with chicken feet and slices of pork in it!
And also fried kuay teow (flat rice noodles) in duck egg with larger-than-life prawns and mantis prawns.
*slurrrps*
Visited Taiping Lake Garden for the second time.
It’s a beautiful place with lots of green and water. I hope it stays that way
Hopefully 2012 will be a smooth sailing year ahead!
What is your best getaway of 2011 and any proudest achievement to share?

Yeah, here’s to 2012 to being an awesome year for the #evurl girls!
My best holiday this year would have to be last month when my parents came down to visit me in Singapore. We were totally touristy and even my mom said it was her best holiday ever.

i haven’t had any trips with parents for a long long time! except for times when they come here to visit
but i guess it doesn’t matter where we are, as long as we spend time together

I love Bali Hai and it’s a must-go whenever I’m back in Penang. I haven’t been to the dam since I was a little girl! It’s still as peaceful and lovely as ever. I didn’t travel much this year and have only been to Hong Kong. But I’ll be in Singapore over an extended weekend and then in Penang for Christmas, so that’s something to look forward to
Here, here to another fantastic year!

Wow, GREAT FOOD
I wonder how do they taste (seems very delicious).
If you have more chances, I would like to introduce you to Vietnam. I have once been there for 2 weeks – a great experience that I can’t forget. The people are friendly and their food are very very tasty
Good luck with your 2012
Best regards
