Benefit has launched a new box powder sometime last year – Hervana after the Bella Bamba, some of us snapped it up during the one-day sale sometime before the official launch.
I have had it for a while, but it is always not the first blusher I reach out to. I love the quirky name – if only it really helps to boost karma!
I like the matte laminating on the box, at least I suppose it won’t be scrapped off as easily as the glossy box of Bella Bamba if you store it in a makeup bag together with other tools.
It comes with an angled brush, which I think it feels slightly softer this time, it’s good for traveling use, but if at home, I will use a blush brush.
With a windmill-swirl print, it’s almost a love at first sight <3
It’s very sheer with one swipe, but you can definitely build the color up with more strokes. Each of the color is really sheer on its own, hence you will have to swirl your blush to combine all colors together.
I won’t be showing you any swatches on hand as it’s almost invisible on hands.
In my picture above, I was on a heavy hand as I wanted the color to show up on picture. In real life, the color was 40% more intense.
Slowly, I think I have grown to like the color. It’s not sickly sweet pink, it’s pinky-coral and it’s very easy to handle if you build the color up slowly.
It’s a good traveling blusher as it can match any eyeshadow, from nude to smoky!
Have you tried Hervana, and did you like it?

the color can really be quite intense if you build it up!

looks great on you
the brush doesn’t work for me though cos I can’t pick up a lot of even colour, will stick to a blush brush for this.

it’s not the best brush out there, but not too shabby for emergency use

It was on my wishlist until I tried it at the counter. I think it’s too pink for my liking, despite the tinge of coral.
Given the pretty windmill swirl, I expected a lot more, but it ended up looking like a regular drugstore pink, and I decided to give it up. Was not an easy decision because I’ve been waiting for months for its release! hahaha.
But yes, I envy that it looks nice on you!! =D

it’s not a very unique shade, in fact you can easily get blushers like this in similar tone. it’s more of a ‘want’ than a ‘need’
