Christmas Giveaway I: 6 Pampering Sauna + Massage Vouchers to be Won and Hot Stone Massage Review @ FIR Wellness Spa Dataran 32

by xin on November 15, 2010

Full Body + Massage Vouchers to be won!

Ever since I am bound to office chair for at least 10 hours a day, I have been experiencing a lot of shoulder aches and back ache.

When I go massage, the masseurs will always comment that I have ‘knots’ in the body too :( due to the fact that I don’t exercise enough =/

To ease whatever pain I have in the body, spa/massage will always be my choice!

FIR wellness @ Dataran 33

Thanks to FIR Wellness Spa, I had the opportunity to try our Hot Stone massage, which was something that I have never tried before. I usually go for Thai massage which involves a lot of cracking and twisting.

FIR wellness @ Dataran 33 Bunting

Before you step into the shop, which is located at the 3rd floor, you can see a bunting with services offered and the price. I always prefer to know the prices upfront to avoid the shock i might have when I find out about the price later.

FIR wellness @ Dataran 33 Longue

The lounge has a couple of tables and chairs for consultation and waiting customers. Quick chat with the lady boss, FIR Wellness has been in operation for 3 years ever since she started recovering from slipped disc by undergoing FIR Sauna treatment couple with deep tissue massage. And therefore they opened ip the business hoping to help others who suffer from other illnesses too.

FIR wellness @ Dataran 33 Interior

It is not a huge shop but it’s clean and neat. The dimly lit walkway makes the ambiance more relaxing.

FIR wellness @ Dataran 33 Couple Room

There is also a couple room or room for 2 if you want to share with your friend.

There are also products for sale, eg soaps, scrubs and essential oils  if you are interested.

FIR wellness @ Dataran 33 Sauna

The FIR Sauna cabin. FIR is Far InfraRed which works just like the traditional sauna room, except that this is electrical and it can penetrate deeper into our system.  I have had friend who had asthma telling me that she has recovered after sitting in this FIR for 5 days a week with 30 mins each session. The recommended session is only 30mins and you will be given a jug of water to replenish your system while sweating. Temperature can be self-adjusted if you find it too hot for you. And there is a disc player attached to every cabin to play your favorite music.

Apart from that, you can read magazines in the cabin.

Trust me, you will sweat like a burning candle!

Hot stone

For my treatment, I have chosen to try Hot Stone massage since it was something new to me.

I was told that the stones used are larger than the normal ones. This is to make sure customers receive the maximum effect of the hot stones and bigger stones can trap heat for longer time. Each pot of stones must be pre-heated for 30 mins before being used. So, make sure you book your appointment before you walk-in as they can get quite packed during the weekend.

For my whole body, 20 huge stones were used to place on my back then front, then also underneath my knee and sole. It was heavenly to be pampered! And massage was also performed with stones instead of hands. I had foot massage prior to Hot Stone massage, so it was save to say that I was pampered from head to toe!

I think I am in love with Hot Stone massage, it was more relaxing unlike the painful Thai massage.

FIR wellness @ Dataran 33 Staff

The masseurs are all from Sarawak and well-trained, they know and alternate their massage strokes to fit your body condition. You know you will be in good hands under them.

Now, santa time!

This venue looks very well set up with many areas well designed to suit customers. It is great that you have included so many pictures as the quality could be difficult to explain. Anyone visiting this day spa will probably have a relxaing and stress free time!

My most memorable moment was when my friend gave me a one-of-kind personalised table caddy which she made by herself from scratch (which requires quite a bit of time and effort) for my birthday. Hope that counts as “pampering”.
