Finally, we have come to the end of our epic family holiday.
Our last destination is Berlin.
We took a 7 hour train ride from Amsterdam and it was definitely not the best time saving mode to travel but there was no better option.
One must not miss the beer when you are in Germany. It’s not the cheapest from the restaurant but it’s dirt cheap in the super market. It’s cheaper than anything!
We stay near to the eateries and malls hence we didn’t need any train passes.
Apparently, curry-wurst is the huge thing there and you can find stalls selling it easily.
For makeup shopping, they had alot of unknown brands and every pharmacy has a huge selection, including brands like Chanel, Dior and Guerlain.
Since we arrived Berlin in the evening and only had 2 nights stay, we decided to just catch a hop on hop off bus instead of taking our own adventure.
Being in one of the most tech advanced countries in the world, and a country producing brands like BMW, Mercedes and Audi, the Mercedes are so common there and it’s used by all the taxis.
The Berlin wall has been taken down and the remains are placed in several corners in the city. It’s quite interesting to note that there is almost two of everything in the Berlin as the city was once divided into two – the east and west Berlin.
The Berlinder Dome.
The President residential in Berlin, even the flag is up, it means that the President is home.
If you are wondering, yes, Berlin is also a shopping heaven, with a shopping street of 3km on both sides of the road. There’s a second largest departmental in the Europe called Ka De We, just after Harrod’s.
Magic carpet man anyone?
Reichstag building. The large glass dome was reconstructed, work was done in 1999 to repair what has been damaged. It’s now with a paranomic view of the city. However. It’s not open to the public anymore without pre-registration.
Our stay in Berlin, very homey and convenient too. We flew back to London for our way home the next day.
We took a last minute tour to Oxford street before our departure. There was no time for shopping but it’s more of seeing what is it about.
Here comes an end to our trip and it has been an awesome trip. Damage to the wallet is done, but will definitely look forward to another one when the bullets are ready!
