Ever since I got my hands on Zoya Lolly, I have been brewing thoughts of mattifying every single color out there. Matte polish chips easily hence you definitely need a matte top coat to the rescue.
I have featured earlier ago – Shu Uemura festive nail color.
It’s a creamy deep wine red with just the right amount of glamorous shimmer.
I like that color, so I had the urge to give it a matte.
After a layer of Essence matte top coat. The top coat dries up pretty quick so you can see a fast transition from glossy top to matte.
But unfortunately this is certainly not the best color to be mattified. I think it turned weird from glam. :S
To slightly tone down the weirdness, I added some stripes with the glitter polish to jazz it up.
In a nutshell, I think matte coat is only good for flat colors and not the shimmery ones 😉
Essence matte top coat is available at Essence counters for <RM10. Cheap and it does the job. What else can you ask more?

Great idea! I have never tried “mattifying” a glossy polish! I have a question though, does it chip easily like regular matte polish once mattified? 😀

I actually like the “weird” finish! It looks like it has a nice sheen. Maybe try an even more shimmery one to mattify next? 😀 Matte x glossy art looks so cool.

That’s not the best to color to mattify I agree, but I like how you saved it with the cute stripes. 🙂

I think flat colors are better to mattify. I mattified Zoya Cynthia and loved it!
Went to Essence but it was all sold out! Poo 🙁
