Review: Mentholatum’s Lipbalm goes Organic – Raspberry & Strawberry Organic Lipbalm

by xin on November 8, 2011

As a Mentholatum’s lip care user for years (think LipIce that tints your lips), it is great to know that finally they decided to jump on the organic bandwagon!

Menthoalatum Organic Certified Lipbalm - Raspberry & Strawberry

If you noticed, the packaging is different from the usual packaging with the lipbalm housed in a plastic cover.

It’s 100% natural with about 97% of the ingredients being organic.

Menthoalatum Organic Certified Lipbalm - Raspberry & Strawberry Ingredients

Contains: Olive oil, shea butter, jojoba oil and beewax.

For those who are allergic to beewax, you might want to skip this.

Menthoalatum Organic Certified Lipbalm - Raspberry & Strawberry Inside

The outlook of the lipbalm is just simple like the rest of the family members. It does what it promises to deliver, without experiencing any discomfort.

Being a strawberry junkie, I absolutely love the scent of raspberry & strawberry on my lips. I have been using it for a while and it’s the first that I reach out now πŸ˜€ simply because of its scent!

The lasting power is just average for me, I will need to reapply it a couple of times throughout the day. The same actually goes to all other lip products for me. Nothing really survives more than an hour on me.

At an affordable price of RM19.90, this product is made in China. And I guess this is how they manage to keep the price low with the ingredients and farms China? πŸ˜‰

This is a keeper for me, being – affordable, works fine, and smells great!

Right now, there is only one flavor available, it’d be great if they launch more flavors in future πŸ˜€

Β Price: RM19.90
Availability: January 2012 at major pharmacies

Just a random curiosity, are you particular about whether your skincare is organic or not?

– I personally am not super particular, if it is, it’s a huge plus I’d be glad to use πŸ˜€Β  otherwise, I can still live with non-organic products that work for me. Since I have been on a rather crazy experiment mood lately, I have tried face oil and body oil with different combination of essential oil and base oil. It’s not exactly cheap, but it is great that I know what exactly I am using πŸ˜€ In time, I might even try to create a lip balm!

organic products especially hair care seem less effective than they claim. still prefer all the chemicals in my products.

btw, you should really try Lip Smacker in strawberry flavor.

I’m not too fussed if a brand is organic or not because I can sometimes be allergic to certain “natural” type of ingredients. I think my skin needs chemicals! I’ll keep a lookout for this lipbalm because it does sound quite nice πŸ™‚

it’s quite a nice lip balm for that price πŸ˜‰ i think we all need a certain level of chemicals to maintain our skin. since we all started with chemicals anyway πŸ˜›

lol can I have a taste? πŸ˜› I’d love it if they had something in a citrusy flavour… πŸ˜€

The scents sounds wonderful! I’m not really bothered whether a product is organic or not. As long as it works, I’ll use it. πŸ™‚

Organic products usually cost more but if there’s an organic product n another with chemicals yet both are the same price and work the same, I’ll pick the organic one. I don’t mind chemicals though

Might give this a try! πŸ˜€ Mentholatum lipbalms hardly ever work for me- I don’t know why, except for Lip Pure though. The scent sounds yummy too, but would prefer something citrusy πŸ˜› Oh and Lip Smacker comes in a huge myriad of flavours- am loving the Coca Cola flavour so far haha!

And if I had a choice between 2 similar products- one organic and the other not organic, I would definitely choose the organic one. But if the non-organic one works better on me than the organic one then too bad.

That’s great! I try to use organic products if I can afford it.

The Mentholatum Lip Pure Lipbalm is already a great one, and now with this, I suppose it’d be even better. Unfortunately, I have not seen this in Singapore.
