Review: Yuan Tangerine Shampoo – for Oily Scalp and Long Hair + Giveaway!

by xin on January 7, 2010

When I met Mr Yuan the first and last time, I remember asking him when will there be Yuan shampoo. And now my question has been answered. It is here already!

yuan tangerine shampoo

Presenting you – Yuan Tangerine Shampoo for oily scalp and long hair.

The very original packaging. Some of you might know that my oily scalp has been quite irritating and I have to wash my hair 2x a day to keep the itch down. Yeah I know it’s bad to wash 2x a day, but when my scalp itches so badly, I really couldn’t care much.

About a month ago, I started using Yuan Tangerine Shampoo.

yuan tangerine shampoo

For my length, I pour out about a palm-ful of shampoo.

It smells really tangerine! Love the citrus and refreshing scent.

yuan tangerine shampoo lather

To my surprise, it lathers up quite well. Usually shampoo like this is not foamy.

To use it:

1. Lather the product.
2. Massage on wet hair.
3. Rinse it off.
4. Hair conditioner is not necessary.

True that, even without the use of hair conditioner, my hair does not tangle like crazy!

After using this shampoo for about a month, I noticed something. My hair would will be oily after a day, but the itch has calmed down quite a bit now! It might look greasy but my scalp does not itch.ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

So I am glad to say that I only wash my hair at night now, once a day!

Available here @ RM75.50. Yes, I know about the ‘ouch!’ for a bottle for 250ml shampoo. But if you have been going through some itchy scalp hell, I am sure the amount wouldn’t hurt too bad.

My hair is really oily. On good days I have to wash every other day. Sometimes, it’ll start getting oily within one day. And my scalp itches too. When I was little, I was scared it was lice but it wasn’t! Thank goodness. My itchy scalp always bothered me because I’m always afraid others will think that I’m not clean or something >__<; The Yuan Tangerine Shampoo sounds really nice ๐Ÿ™‚ Maybe it’ll help with my itchy scalp too! But I don’t think that’s available in the U.S. :\

My hair condition is oily on the scalp which can lead to dandruffs sometimes but with dry ends with split ends due to straightening and colouring my hair like once every year.

I would like to try Yuan shampoo to find a solution to my annoying hair condition that is making my scalp not oily, looking fresh and clean while not drying the ends of my hair dealing with tangles and split ends.

I m having a ‘mushroom’ stye hair. Somemore it is black since my mum don’t allow me to dye my hair. Totally a mushroom look but i m lovin it so much. My hair is quite smooth but just suffering from itchy scalp although it is not oily at all. And i wash it every single day without fail. Haha.

I would like to try out Yuan shampoo is because Yuan’s soap have a very good reputation and of cause so will its shampoo. Totally believe in it. And i just try out the Yuan soap. Having real good feeling with it and looking forward to anjoy the bathing moment everyday. Haha.

wow! I LOVE the “original” packaging. I have a soft spot for all these vintage stuff, and feel of reality.

shiki January 7, 2010 at 5:05 pm

Thanks for the cool review! Really ouch for the price though.

I have a slightly oily scalp from walking outdoors and all the pollution, and such. Thus it is also very dirty.

I need something that is gentle as I sometimes get reactions to some shampoos so the more natural the better I am sure.

Plus, I have frizzy fried hair due to the crimping I did awhile back. It hasn’t been as straight since. So much for wanting to show off a new do. Am now trying to grow out my hair so I can just shuck it off!

Thanks for the giveaway dear.

Hi. Really glad to see Yuan Tangerine Shampoo comes into Malaysia.

I have a very oily scalp and long black hair; I need to wash my scalp everyday. Last time I’d buy a Lemon shampoo from Yuan store at the 6th health fair. I love that original fresh lemon smell so much, and it helps my scalp to become healthier.

Now I finish that lemon shampoo, and I would like to try this Tangerine Shampoo especially itโ€™s ready for oily and long hair. Iโ€™m looking forward to it well impact, it may have better result for my scalp^^

By the way, now Iโ€™m keep using Yuan soap product such as ????, ??and ??, soon Iโ€™ll gonna use ????^^. It does really help my skin grow healthier~ my pimples are lesser after use Yuan Soap.

I have long thick frizzy hair…. my hair drops bundle by bundle everytime i wash or comb my hair. Due to this, baby hairs are sprouting here and there and it makes my hair felt so untidy. I really looking forward to try Yuan’s shampoo ever since it first came out in Taiwan. The only thing that draws me back was the price. I would like to try the samples and evaluate on the effect on my hair before buying the whole full bottle. I’m a Yuan soap user and i really hope the shampoo will suit me as well.

electronicfly January 7, 2010 at 9:18 pm

Zomg I have the same problem! But not as serious as yours. The roots of my hair gets really oily by mid-day, though I only get the itchy feeling if I don’t wash every other day.

What’s different about my hair though is hair loss. I have a very thick head of hair (thankfully!) but I do “shed” like crazy! At first I thought it was the weight of my long hair, but chopping a whole lot off didn’t help, so it might be due to breakage. ๐Ÿ™

Eva January 7, 2010 at 11:34 pm

My hair is oily on the scalp , with dry split ends plus hair loss. I want to try the Yuan shampoo because it is natural ingredient products, hope it can settle my problem.

Jessie January 8, 2010 at 12:37 am

My hair is like your unfortunately, oily scalp, oily hair, plus dandruff and hair loss like crazy. Hmm can you ask Mr. Yuan if he has something for hair growth? -_-

klina January 8, 2010 at 1:20 pm

I’ve got an oily scalp but dried tagly ends. My scalp itches and flakes after 24 hours of not washing. So if this product can solve that problem, it would be heaven sent. Thanks for the giveaway.

Abby January 8, 2010 at 5:47 pm

Oily scalp check. Long hair check. Frizzy hair check. Tangle problem check. Loves citrus scent, check again!

Wants to try Yuan Shampoo, triple check!

I think I need to try something that can help solve all my hair problems as well as being naturals and without too many (or none) preservatives!

Thanks for the giveaway dear.

Chiew Ying January 9, 2010 at 9:22 pm

I’m having problem with hair lost. I’ve tried all types of shampoo in the market but I’ve yet to find a suitable one for my hair. It’d be great to give Yuan Tangerine Shampoo a try!

Rinny January 10, 2010 at 7:28 am

My scalp is oily with dry hair strands. To be honest, I’m more interested in the soap than the shampoo. I want to give the shampoo sample to my mom who has itchy scalp problem since her scalp is very oily and it irritates her.

Thank you and have a nice day.
