As we on the Christmas’ Eve 2013 and stepping into 2014, and it’s time to have my flashbacks of 2013.
Some of my flashbacks:
2013 is definitely the travel year of my life. Visited several cities ie Manila, London, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Berlin and Bangkok. It’s epic and each city holds a special place in my heart. I am not sure what is my plan for 2014 but definitely can’t wait to see the world again!
Okay…this is rather important because I have not exercised enough like I planned to. The exercise regime deteriorated badly towards year end because of the rather bad weather. But my proudest achievement was mountain biking of 17km in FRIM for the first time! It wasn’t easy and full of pain and sweat, and I actually have a phobia of biking there again, until I get a suitable saddle.
3. Makeup & Skincare
I think I have not done any serious makeup purchase but the biggest bomb that I dropped at one go was for the Guerlain Crazy Paris collection. And two days later I bought another Rouge G. >< My best skincare find of the year would be the REN’s Resurfacing AHA Concentrate. It’s quite a magical serum to help me with the annoying tiny bumps on my face. It’s quite a skin booster I would call it.
4. Organizing and stuff
Some time back, I dissed the idea of having clear acrylic storage due to the fear of mess. And….little did I know, I was assembling clear storage from Muji for my dresser. Lesson learnt: Never say never. I actually quite like the shallow drawers because the small items such as eyeliners and mascaras have no room for movement, hence lessened the mess. ^_^ Who knows I might add another layer in time to come?
5. Online Shopping
I started online shopping years back, and it’s become bigger this year. I started buying clothes online and miscellaneous items. I have a online shopping tips for clothes if you need it.
And….I bought the most important shoes of my life from Shopbob! Awwwwwwww….aren’t they super gorgeous? Unfortunately, the size still runs small for me even though I bought half size bigger than what I tried at the local boutique I have found ways to expand the flats and it will be a long post for another day!
Of course, food is still a big part of my life. I am feeling thankful that this year I was home for Winter Solstice and had the chance to eat my mom’s savory glutinous balls as our tradition instead of the sweet glutinous balls. Once you got salty, you can’t go sweet
And I am glad that I have sort of mastered the art of cooking half boiled egg on stove! It’s quite easy to make, but of course it’s trial and error, especially if you have eggs from the fridge at various sizes. I am not an exotic food person but the most exotic food I have had this year had to be balut in Manila….which was a duck embryo. ><
I wouldn’t say I enjoyed it but it’s definitely an experience not to be forgotten.
If you are too busy, or too lazy to get out from home for food, check out Food Panda. I like the idea because the menu for food delivery is much wider than just the regular fast food delivery. And they have promotions weekly which certain restaurants offer free delivery service. You can select restaurants based on your locations, and restaurants nearest to your area will be listed for your selection.
That’s almost all about my 2013…I hope you have had a great year too!
