Yesterday, I have shown you this picture of my current dresser, but now I am going to show you the details! 😀
It’s coming to year end…and I just realized that I have never really ‘reviewed’ my skincare routine for this year!
It’s ironic at the same time because I review products all the time! Hope you know what I meant by this 😉
When I was in my teens, I had less skin worries other than black or white heads. However, in 20’s, I have battle with pimples and sudden attack of dry skin. They seem like an impossible combo, but yes, when I have dry skin, pimples pop too since the the dry layer is only the external.
Picture of me at about 6 months ago – I had an acne outbreak, and very pigmented pigmentation =/
Needless to say, the focus of my skincare routine is either acne or hydration.
One major change in my skincare would be the incorporation of Clarisonic Mia. It has sort of revolutionized my skin and with daily night use, the most significant difference I have observe is – less congested pores.
Morning Routine:
(in no particular combination)
1. Cleanse – Airellis Milk Cleanser / Kielh’s Ultra Facial Cleanser
2. Tone – Melvita Floral Water / Airellis
3. Treatment – Airellis Clarifying Face Essential Oil / Clarins HydraQuench Serum / Epiderm Intense Hydrating Serum
4. Moisturize – Clarins HydraQuench Cream-Melt /
5. Sunscreen – Clarins UV Plus HP Day Screen Protection SPF40/
Night Routine:
1. Cleanse – Clarisonic with Kielh’s Ultra Facial Cleanser
2. Double Cleanse (if necessary) – Hada Labo Cleansing Oil to remove first layer of makeup
3. Tone – Melvita Floral Water /Airellis Desensitizing Face Essential Oil
4. Treatment – Clinique Turn Around Concentrate/
5. Moisturize – Kielh’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate / Melvita Rose Hip Oil / REN Rose Ultra Moisture Serum / Darphin Myrrh Aromatic Care / DIY Special – Apricot Kernel + Lavender Essential Oil
As you can see, I am totally addicted to facial oils right now…and I alternate the oils everyday.
Special Acne Fighting Warriors
1. Kielh’s Blemish Control Daily Skin-Clearing Treatment
2. Airellis Intense Clarifying Booster
3. Garnier Men Acno Fight
4. b.liv Off with Those Heads
As you might notice, I am using quite a few products from all sorts of brands. Well, because I like to experiment…and I find it hard to commit to a product/brand religiously for long. Think about it, there are always new products that claim to be better and more promising, but we really wouldn’t know till we try it ourselves 😀
Last but not least, below is a picture of my current state.
Large pores that can never be solved, but I really have noticed the lightened pigmentation, it could be contributed to all the whitening stuff I have used too.
I am not sure how my skin will turn out next month, but hopefully nothing very dramatic 😀
But perhaps I should start making it a monthly post – eg Skin of The Month to see the progress 😉
What do you think? Do you always look back at the older pictures for comparison?

Wow xin. The lightening of the pigmentation spot is pretty dramatic. Your face looked much healthier now…and glowing too! I have the same problem like yours, acne especially on the forehead and chin area. My blackheads problem on my nose is a never ending story. Can’t find a solution no matter what product I use.
thanks! 😀 I have to agree on the pigmentation that has been lightened quite a lot 😀 i am glad. i am coming to a point to accept that – blackheads can never be ended.

Wow that is a huge improvement- I am so happy for you! 😀 Because nothing makes us feel better than seeing an improvement in our skin, yes? 🙂 I also have quite a lot of steps when it comes to skincare, but I try to have more than one thing from the same brand, unless of course it totally doesn’t work for me 😛 I’m quite loyal, and get very sad when the product gets re-formulated and ends up not working for me because I have very sensitive skin and it’s not that easy to find something that really works for me 🙁
I recently also recovered from a really bad acne breakout (Before MWS Awards), and my cousin (Who owns a Cellnique salon) advised me to focus on hydration. I did and thankfully my skin cleared up well enough in time for MWS Awards haha!
aww bummer about the reformulation! your skin looked great the other day so i guess hydration is the way to go! 😉

i believe it is the big help of clarisonic!
i don’t usually have a before picture to compare unless I’m doing it for the sake of reviewing the items. but normally i do check on my skin every now and then to make sure it’s happy. and my sister ALWAYS tell me if she finds something good/bad about my skin, so yea, i no need to check myself! 😛
maybe you wanna train chai to help you with that? hehe
