Sheela’s Eyebrow Threading @ Jalan Telawi Bangsar

by xin on August 23, 2007

Eyebrow trimming is pretty common among the ladies, some people might shave it, or pluck the brows. But, have you tried eyebrow threading? Yes, thread, with a thread.

I have heard from my friend that there is a particular shop in bangsar, which does a good job and only cost RM5 to get the brows done! Of course, I just had to check it out. Not knowing the shop name, or location, I really had a hard time finding it. All I was given was ‘right next to Nirvana banana leaf’. Well, I am not a frequent of Bangsar because it is always packed there. After touring for about 20 mins in Bangsar, just when I was about to give up, I saw this shop!

I was quite skeptical about it since there was no signboard about beauty stuff, they are professionals in dress making in fact. I have captured some shots for you ladies in case any of you might want to try it out.

The shop was right next to Ambank actually, with this landmark, it is much easier to find.

There was nothing gorgeous or fancy about the shop, just simle and clean.

Continuing from Part I, walking in, I requested for eye brow trimming, and I DID NOT KNOW THAT IT WAS THREADING!!!

When the lady took a thread out and told me to lie down, it really scared the hell out of me! O_o. Not easy you know. Using thread to cut your brows, imagine the potential pain when the thread brushed your skin.

Indeed, the idea of it scared the shit out of me, but, there was no way I could run, so I only lied down in fear. The lady first apply some talcum on my brow, then, she held the thread with her teeth and started the process. You see, I had my eyes closed, so, I didn’t really see how it was done. I spent the minutes sweating away. It was not hot there. But I was so nervous and scared, I kept perspiring.

Well, I am quite pain intolerant, so, I would say that it was quite painful. Brow area is supposed to be the least painful area of the whole face. There are other services such as bikini wax, underarm threading and etc. I have the shot for their services. Welcome to check out. Oh yeah, I was supposed to hold the brows and lids apart, but, I was so scared that I had to hold on to my fists, so, the other lady held my brows for me. They did a pretty goob job I must admit, my brows looked neat and tidy after the job.

But, I must tell you that, this is NOT RESHAPING. This is just clearing off the bushes off your brows. So, if you are looking for eyebrow shaping, I am afraid that this is not the place. The whole process was only RM5 (RM8 as of March 2011) I would say it worths a try.

And, I will consider going back there again next time! πŸ˜€

Think about it ladies ‘threading’ is the ultimate way to neaten up one’s face, as it is chemical free unlike waxing or shaving which will damage your skin, make it sag or wrinkle. One is very fortunate to have a natural process such as ‘threading’in your home town and I would pay as much as $30/ to have my facial hair removed in this manner.

Went there hoping to sell some salon products but there was this women, probably an employee, treated me like I’m there to rob them.

I have been into marketing for years and never anyone has been so rude.

I was not happy with this place at all. The “boss” lady was overly rude to her staff, constantly interrupting them and talking harsh to them which made me very uneasy. She also convinced me to get a leg waxing because they had a promotion, I was doubtful because the hair on my legs were short but she assured me that they were long enough and I trusted her thinking she has enough experience. I ended up with a very botched job; most of the hair couldn’t be pulled off and the girl repeatedly waxed the same area which left the skin red, sensitive and painful. Also my eyebrows, the main reason I went there, were uneven and looked horrible at the end.

So unhappy with this experience.
